Just saw this AV in Virus Bulletin
    http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/archive/results?vendor=VE92
Not a very bad score for a new comer

    According to them
Till now only the bold portion is true to me. The prices are surprisingly low....:D

They have a server antivirus too
    http://avertive.com/server-antivirus/
    costlier compared to other versions

I cannot test the product as the download link does not work. I took a support ticket and requested the link and also requested to visit this thread.

They also have a firewall product
    http://avertive.com/firewall/
    which is relatively costlier

But I think we need a separate thread to discuss about that.

You can always try it out on the same test set as you did with the 50-60 AV's you tested a couple of months ago:)
And they did beat Norman so they can't be that bad ;)

I couldn't get the download link to work either. Really low pricing. Curious to see how it performs.

For a "supposed" english company the £ is Very strange !

    No HTTPS ?

    http://buy.avertive.com/no_account?zenid=1vkdrgtijt6v817h9avvoepa95

    No posts ?

    http://support.avertive.com/forum

    This doesn't work either ?

There are a number of companies registered there, so it "could" be just a convenience address ?

The fact that they obviously had a working AV at some point for VB to test says something. Whether it was/is their own or just badged as theirs ? Caution advised anyway i would say, until we hear more, if we ever do ?

On their blog they are stating that they are "Based on an established AV scan engine" o_O

    The AVs use VirusBuster.

Firewall looks clean and simple, has IDS. 64 bit, too. Might be worth a look. Wonder how well the app rules can be tuned?

Did I read the right VB report? Avertive missed 22 samples and failed?

Each AV brings in its own set of strengths and weaknesses. More AV's on the market the more innovation. So no not really :)

Without new competition there will be no new advancements or technologies. If your happy with the current sub par protection being behind in the malware battle then I guess more power to you.

This reminds me of the Car Industry in the United States... you know the one where where GM and Chrysler had a million brands, most of them crap, and then they crashed and burned ?

Just that in this case we have many dozens of GMs, each with its own singular brand that brings absolutely nothing to the table.

You dont have a clue do you. Either you have been living under a rock these past few years and have completely missed the Norton turnaround, and the recession, and the flash crash and the first black american president, or..

Btw.. I assume you also run https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=283855

    and CoreGuard Antivirus
    and XP Antivirus
    and PC Defender

all brilliant AV products that warrant wasting everyone's time here to test

Oops, apologies for the confusion, we have not quite launched yet, and it appears our SEO is better than anticipated

The prices quoted are correct, and we will be launched very, very shortly. We just didn't think we'd get picked up in search engine indexing quite this quickly. Ah the rigours of trying to launch a new business!

With respect to the VB100 testing, it was very unfortunate that due to the last minute decision to enter, we sent them a duff build. I will kick myself for the rest of the year for that, but, you know, once you've entered, there's little that can be done about it (that's good though, right; we have to keep on our toes!)

I'll post back here the moment we go live. Meantime, I'd be happy to answer any questions.

    Best Regards,

    Ron Marshall

    Hi gakbot,

~ Off Topic Remarks Removed ~

    - on topic,
Thanks Ron Marshall for providing info on the Avertive VB100 score.
I hope the webpages (support pages) on other products like HackerWall will be updated soon cause info is a little scarse at the moment.

Thanks for the feedback, we will, of course, be updating the product pages, providing better FAQ / Support pages and generally filling out the site with useful info. And I mean useful, not just on-message marketing (though that too :) )

    Best Regards,

    Ron.
