Yeah, I've referred to this thread in the past as "the official HMP thread".

Suggestion for future versions: After a force breach Hitman Pro shows how many processes it ended, it would be nice to have a drop-down menu showing which processes they were.

Something like "Hitman Pro support & discussion thread" or "Official Hitman Pro thread" sounds good ;)

Couldn't find a definite answer. If the file was safe, should be easy to find a response.

In your windows temp folder, given the name of the file, I'd say it's not needed. Could be bad given the name of the file (retrieving info on your system maybe?). A dll file, in the temp folder, which is usually cleared out, 'needed'? Probably not.

Link below says not part of Windows.
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vcgeneral/thread/c9d6da29-b1e7-4339-8c1a-2c2e0adf55ae

Few reports where people have had problems with their PC, have had this file in their system log (hijackthis).

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? There was like this hitmanpro super hero flash video on surfright where you can see the super heroes killing malware. I can't see to find it anymore though

    @wutsup
I know what u r talking about. There was this little flash animation where 5 characters (the 5 vendors) were fighting against all types of malware. There was a girl, a chubby guy, a little boy, and 2 other random guys.
You are right. It's no longer on their site.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

well i created a snapshot and let HMP delete it...HMP asked for a reboot...then i scanned again and voila same detection again...repeated the same story two times .....delete...reboot yet the file is detected ...
the funny thing is that neither prevx realtime shows any detection nor NIS 2011....

Interesting, could be part of a legitimate program you use, but it isn't common.

Does CCleaner remove the file through its standard (temporary file) clean?

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

It's the Hitman Pro engine itself.

I assume you have been scanning with EWS (Early Warning Scoring). You should only use this instead of a normal scan if you have no internet connection or if you are willing to see files rated as Suspicious and are able to determine for yourself whether they are a threat or not.

When scanning with EWS, a Suspicious file means that the file was detected by Hitman Pro as having suspicious behaviour but none of the scanners used by Hitman Pro in the cloud detected the file as malware.

I haven't read all thread, as it is a very long one, but I'm wondering if it is suppose for Hitman to make connections to third-party DNS services?

    I spotted it with Peerblock:

MB, I can't find the post in the thread, but I remember it being discussed, part of Hitman Pro's scanning includes cross-checking information with google etc.

I can't seem to find the edit button on the first post anywhere. Should I PM a moderator?

I believe one can only edit a post for a week or two then the edit option is gone.
A mod should be able to help.
