    We are using the Lavasoft engine as provided and specified by Lavasoft. According to Lavasoft, the engines does not include the Sunbelt malware database. Further questions specific to Lavasoft’s engine should best be directed to Lavasoft.

    @Divenow
    Interesting phenomenon. Could you send a PM and we can trouble shoot this offline? Though our focus has been on detection and removal of malware, the gui is under review.

    Hi Coranti, if I am not wrong as far as I remember Lavasoft engine is reserved only for Realtime scan, not for On-Demand scan. Isn't that true?

    Why don't build in virus signatures? If the bandwidth is not high enough, it needs to take a very long time to update the signatures because it has not multi-threads to update, unlike the download managers that support multi-threads download.:D

    One other question, can I change the priority of engines for scanning?

    According to the screenie posted by @Divenow above, there's no way to see which engine detected the "threat". Are there plans to include this? Is there a log where I can get this info? This is quite useful when reporting FP's like in this case.

    Coranti you may have answered this already, I just wanted you to clarify- is there no behavior monitor besides the "advanced heuristics" ? There is no B-have behavior monitor from Bitdefender? Also, is the Norman sandbox included or only Norman signatures? thanks

    There are seperate anti-spyware monitor (for realtime) and anti-spyware scanner (on-demand scan) modules that you can configure individually. So both modes are supported.

    Under "heuristics" all available behavior monitor technologies provided by the engines we include are included. Norman Sandbox is included. We want to pass on the benefits of multiple signatures as well as multiple behavior monitor technologies.

    There are indeed plans and based on valuable user feedback, we will improve the workflow and handling of FP. Several improvements have already been made in 1.1.7. For now, each engine can be turned on/off individually which would clarify the source of the (suspected) FP. The file can then be submitted to the respective engine vendor. Some types of potential FP detections have an "ignore and add to exclusion list" function.

    @Coranti: Your product idea is great but need a lot of work. If you do it properly, I can guarantee that it will be the best product with highest detection/prevention score.
    BitDefender B-have behavior and Norman sandbox are two heavy additions. Try to further optimize and offer customization as much as possible. Also, get latest engines from respective vendors. Do not use old engines, especially BitDefender old engine with lot of bugs. Insist for latest engines.

    Thanks AvinashR for great review. Actually, I think that inclusion of Normal increase RAM and CPU usage, as its standalone is heavy too. Hope Coranti will be improved much to reduce extensive resources requirements in next version.

    May I ask why you are using Norman. I am quite aware of their poor performance. Even though you might not afford anything better due to having the F-Prot and Bitdefender though I doubt Norman will find anything Bitdefender wont :).

    Anyhow, how is Coranti in tests?, could I see a subjective test?. Has it participated in any trustworthy test yet?

    @Boyfriend: Although Norman has never been a chart topper it is rather good detection wise. I have seen it detect things before a few of the other major AV's so I figure that's why they picked them.

    @Ibrad: It might be detecting via Norman Sandbox/generic signature. I think they should search for alternates if they want to reduce resource usage (Above 400 MB RAM usage is unacceptable for everyone).

    As a user of norman. i want to clarify that norman has been made great progress than before.i focus on their website. i found that they changed many technicist and making conference to discuss about how to improve their products. i am also frequently submit virus samples to them.the infected files(which not be detected by norman)will be detected within 2 signature update .now their sandbox detecion have been made a important role in the whole testing.so i think norman's outlook is grest
