    Hi all,

Can anyone please help with a bit of advice. I'm running Windows Me and would like to uninstall Windows Media Player and just use an alternative instead. e.g. Winamp.
Media Player does not show up either in Add/Remove Programs or In the Windows Set Up tab in the Control Panel. What would be the method of uninstalling?

    Many thanks,

    Terry

You never mentioned which player you were using....if it is 9 then you can"t unistall it is intergrated into windows...the easiest thing to do is disconnect your file types and download the player of your choice and make that your main player:
    1 - open WMP
    2 - tools
    3 - options
    4 - file types
uncheck all file types.....make sure your new player supports all the file types you have disconnected.

personally i use WMP for all my video and midi files...for my audio i use Quintessential this combination works well.

    Quintessential Player

    Hi,

Thanks for your speedy reply. Sorry, forgot to say it is version 7.01.00.3055. Thanks for the link, i'll sure look into that. Have to go away for a few days, so will have a good look when I get back.

    Many thanks,

    Terry
