I mentioned this before and got no response, but why does scan computer daily at startup always do a quick scan even though Default scan is specified in the settings?

We have it under investigation. Will be fixed (when broken) for build 116 (out soon).

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

You are running with Early Warning Scoring (EWS). In this mode potential dangerous files (with blue shield) are shown. The higher the score the more dangerous the file is. A score of 6.0 is not very high. Use only this mode if you have no internet connection or you have knowledge of the files.

Is this really an FP? As I see many big names in the list at VT. Could they all be wrong?

The one listed as a trojan by G-data, panda, eset and others is located in your appdata, temp folder. Could be a drive-by download waiting to be clicked-on and launched. Doesn't look too safe to me.

Run CCleaner, clear your temp files and scan with HMP again.

Ccleaner should remove the temp files from your system. If the file comes up again, you might need to investigate further (with HMP, and other programs). For starters, it's not in your system folder, so is something downloaded more recently I'm guessing. Right-click and select properties, see when it was created.

No, of course not, it is still beta, you have to wait for official release if you want to auto-update.
You can run Build 116 beta alongside, it won't install, run only ;)

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Hitman Pro 3.5.7 build 116 *preliminairy* release notes. Both 64-bit as 32-bit are scheduled for imminent release.

    Changelog
    • Version 3.5.7

    • Added new Setup dialog that is displayed after the EULA.
Users using Hitman Pro from an USB stick no longer have to use the /noinstall switch
    • Improved Early Warning Scoring related to gossip classifier which improves detection of 0-day rogues.
    • Add new command line switches for corporate environments:
/nostartboot – does not install the scan at startup component
/nostartmenushortcut – does not install start menu shortcuts
/nodesktopshortcut – does not install desktop shortcut
    • Fixed occasional product activation problems.
    • Fixed a problem where the Scan at startup would not honor the Default scan mode.
    • Updated Botan crypto library.
    • Updated libpng library.
    • Updated SQLite library.
    • Updated several translations.
    • Several minor improvements.
We are still looking for people who can help us translate Hitman Pro into German, French, Italian or Spanish. Please PM me if you are interested. Other languages are welcome to. Your efforts will be worthwhile.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Can I use Hitman Pro as a portable application on my USB-stick and am I allowed to use that USB-portable version on my laptop while having Hitman Pro installed on my regular stationary computer? Summary: Can I use my existing license on a second computer I own within my home. For a reminder; I am the customer, not my computers. So naturally I should be fine doing this, right?
