Complete PDF Toolkit ?

I've mentioned pdftk and PDF-Shuffler before. This is just to create awareness that there is also a GUI for pdftk which does most of what can be done via the command line with pdftk (including background and stamp watermarking).
PDF Chain is in the (U)buntu 10,04 repos.(requires pdftk) as is PDF-Shuffler.
Surely there is not much more one could ask for with this combo ?

Any tips as to a FOS pdf editor for this flonderer plz ??

Try PDFedit, scribus or GIMP.

 

As far as I know one can't edit pdf's with Scribus.

You can open pdf's with Scribus (> New File > Insert > Image > Double click > Select PDF file) and then add stuff, images and text, but no editing. I just tested with a pdf .. adding tux and TEST ..


BTW. Gimp is also of little use - OpenOffice is better.

 

That's a nice succinct comment.

Yeah, by "edit" I meant change text.
Even adding can be difficult as editors can often not sort out fonts and backgrounds automatically.
If pages are rotated some additions/changes may not auto rotate.
Adding objects is relatively straight forward.
