    Upgrades are not straight forward;

    1. If you bought a Trustport product BEFORE August 1st, 2010 you are not
    entitled to a free upgrade to the 2011 line.

    2. If you bought a product AFTER August 1st you can update for free.

    Users who have TP Antivirus 2010 can update to Internet Security 2011.
    Users who have PC Security 2010 can update to Total Protection 2011.

    The old serial/keycodes can be used in the new versions.

    Seems unfair to me especially those who bought just before the cut off date.

    Thanks, good to know they use such policies and tricks. Do you know if this was announced time before the certain date? Because if they had made an announcement then there should not be any buyers near the cut off date ( at least among those who had the good idea to read the companies news and announcements ).

    Good Afternoon ! Again a company playing games with it's loyal customers...which raises the question...how can Trust...be used in relation to their product and customer relations and retention ? Sincerely...Securon

    Thank you for the information. Although the key file seemed to well be registered on the Trustport Antivirus 2011 product, the realtime protection got stopped. I did have installed twice due to just this and now I just asked for their answer about this matter through their webpage because both sales@trustport.com and support@trustport.com didn't reply back. Mine was bought on the late August.

    Support originally told me to use the old activation code but this has not worked.

    On the main site;

    So sent an email to Sales.

    Still hoping they change their policy of upgrading to the 2011 versions.

    Just came across this discussion over at Rokop Security which suggests that there maybe a change of heart at the top :blink: :thumb:

    Hi, brothers.

    This is what I got from the Trustport through an email and the relevant information is as below:

    Dear customer,
    for users who bought or made renewal trustport product at 1st of August 2010 or later will be available
    changeover to 2011 version for free according your trustport product:
    Who has Antivirus 2010 will have Internet Security 2011.
    Who has PC security 2010 will have Total Protection 2011.

    In next week just uninstall version 2010 and download and install version 2011 from http://www.trustport.com/en/download then use your old SN in new 2011 version license wizard.
    We jsut need some time for changover databes for serial number. Thanks for patient.

    Best Regards

    What do you think of the 2011 version compared to the 2010 version?

    Too early to say yet as the program is still "fingerprinting" my files. Although I have gained the firewall in the new version compared to the older version of the AV. Still no custom install though :thumbd:

    I will report back in a few days.

    Standalone AV 2011; very similar in terms of performance, memory usage, main GUI of expert settings, engines used.

    But there are changes in tray icon and GUI of simple settings.

    But major difference is that Internet/Web Scanner/Mail Scanner has been dropped in the standalone 2011 version.

    Internet Security 2011; free update from 2010 AV. Has an additional firewall but you cannot custom install or uninstall; you have to allow all connection in the firewall settings. Since I am behind a router, software firewall is not an essential for me plus I have LooknStop in reserve if needed.

    So overall I am back to the 2010 version with the very light Internet Scanner on a snapshot. IMHO, a step backwards for the AntiVirus.

    There should be no problems with transferring the old codes across now; changeover was about 10 days ago and it is now a free upgrade for ALL 2010 users.
