How much heat if any does a monitor give off when not turned off.

My friend has one of the tube computer monitor and she puts a blanket over it when she is done using it. She does not turn off the monitor but leaves it on with the light orange. The computer itself is shut down. How much heat if any does it give off when not turned off and with a blanket over it? Should the blanket affect anything?

 

Minimum or none during standby status.

The issue here is that electrical devices should never get covered specially when the covered part is the one with the holes for ventilation. Electrical devices can be covered/stored only when we unplug them first.

 

Why is it dangerous if I have it covered? The reason why I have to cover it is because I have a pet and he likes to chew on things.

 

I should turn off the computer monitor and everything off and then put the blanket on top of it? Is it safe that way? and the blanket is not too thick by the way.

 

Shes going to be covering them when they are shut down and after a cool down period. Here are some pics I got what do u suppose we should do?

Can I use the blanket for now until I buy it without covering the back vents after the computer is cooled down and after I completely shut down my computer? Would that be safe as long as everything is turned off and wait for a while after the computer has been used so it'll cool down and then cover it except those holes in the back?

Chinchilla chews everytime when I'm not by the computer and he doesn't listen. Can I buy a plastic sheet cover that I posted above after everything is turned off? Just don't put it over the back vents?

 

Is it safe to put a blanket over the tower and the desktop computer after its cooled down until she gets the plastic covering sheet? Would it be safe and it won't going to affect anything if its cooled down enough to not trap in any heat?

 

We will vacuum it and take it out back to hit it.
