    Hi coldmoon,

System Restore / Returnil Multi-Snapshot have the same incompatibility with dual boot with linux as EAZ-FIX, Comodo Time Machine and Rollback-RX? or it work in a different way?

Hi s23 and welcome to the forums :)

RSS and the RMS Utility do not use the more dangerous sector mapping approach used by the programs you list so there should not be any issues when used on a dual-boot machine. Some initial thoughts to keep in mind:

The Restore Point and Snapshot created will only apply to the OS you boot with. So if you have an XP/Win 7 dual-boot, you need to install within each OS separately with the understanding that the RSs and SNs generated within a specific OS will only be valid within that OS when it is mounted.

Very nice! Going install the givewayoftheday version now!

    There is one more question:
I gained a Returnil key from the giveaway here at wilderssecurity. I never used it. I started test drive the free one but noticed some slowdown (mainly at hard disk activity - my HD have +- 5 years so is a bit old tech) on my machine. Is possible change this key for one to Lite or Multi-Snapshot?

I installed this and it founs 12 virus's, security warnings, and malware. Some was in my software that was not installed, some was DLL's, some was oftware distribution, and other was software installed that had something matter wuth it. I have AVG 2011, SASP FREE, Malware Bytes Free, Stinger, Norman malware cleaner, Antimaleware tool kit, amd even uploaded half of them to Virus Total and Jotti and found nothing. I do not trust this software and Uninstalled it.It says it used F-Prot Anti-virus but even at Virus Total F-Prot did not find anything I uploaded. Beware of this product or your system might crash.
    Just my opion though.:thumbd:

Hello davhag64 and welcome to the forums :)

First, if you suspect a false positive detection, let us know by sending us samples of the detected files and a copy of the Virus Guard detection log (Virus Guard > Logs > Export button). Send them to support (dash) tech (at) returnil (dot) com and the research team will investigate.

In your report, I suspect that some of the blocks/detections may be related to your Anti-Execute setting (Virtual Mode > Settings > Additional Protection... section). Try both the medium (allow services) or (allow programs to run normally) and see if that clears any of the detections/blocks.

Second, the F-Prot engine is only a part of the Virus Guard component so you may or may not see a stand-alone copy of their AV program detect something that is detected by RSS.

Third, Returnil System Safe Pro/Free 2011 are completely stable and effective. If there were an issue with an unacceptable level of false positive detections, this would have been noted by Virus Bulletin in August during their last round of tests and would have negatively impacted our final results - this simply did not happen...

We take all reports seriously and work quickly to address false positive detection reports so you can be certain that your report and sample submission will get immediate and focused attention by our team.

    Hi,
Let me check and get back to you on this. The main snag here is the fact that a RVS Lite license has a multi-seat minimum as it is mainly designed as an alternative for our customers who have isolated and/or highly restricted networks with little or no access to the internet.

To allay your fears regarding the minimum, the number is well within the small network range (5 seats) so has relevance for home and lab testing networks.

Understand. I have just one computer. See if the change is possible. If no, no problems. I will hold the key until i can update my machine.

THX you Mike for the support.
