And I've proven quite the opposite probably about 3,000 times more. I will take Hitman's detection and removal of active threats and advanced infections like TDSS over MBAM's registry, cookies and PUP cleanup capabilities. While I'm not touting Hitman as "holy grail", detection of real threats in MBAM is not even in the same category as Hitman's.

If you expand the row you can see WHY it is suspicious. Most of the time a setup is signed and the file is incomplete, therefor missing the authenticode certificate.

Please post a screenshot with the row expanded.

I see - the file was in a tmp directory. I deleted all tmp files and hitman pro doesn't find any suspicious files now :)

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

The fact that MBAM does not look at content, creates false positives of registry settings which are changed for the better. MBAM just notices they are not default and told me when I just had implemented some security advisories (of Microsoft) that I was doomed :thumbd:

I hope Hitman implements a more sophisticated analysis.

That is true, copy your calc.exe and rename it to an malware sample and it will be detected.

As far as I can remember they call it "very aggressive heuristics" :doubt: :D

The funny thing is, although it ain't really sophisticated and it might trigger a lot of probems, it actually works for Malwarebytes.

    Erikloman,
Is there any news on implementing a multiple highlighted files scan?
    Thanks

Maybe it was mentioned before, I didn't check (it's quite long thread), but can somebody explain:

I wanted to install Hitman Pro 3.5, but I didn't like the part that says
so I quit the installation process. To my surprise, I found Hitman icon on my desktop!?

Does that mean that Hitman ignored my decision to quit the installation and installed without my consent?

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Not really... most likely the icon on your desktop belongs to HMP's installer, which has the same look as the app itself. So don't worry, I'm sure The Loman Bros. are very confident about their software and don't need to implement such tactics to force you to use it. :thumb:

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

The EULA question is not part of the 'installer' it is just shown the first time you run Hitman Pro. If you cancel, you just close the program. It has already copied itself to the Program Files folder so that you can find it the next time.

We will change this in the next release though as it seems indeed a bit confusing.
