PC Tools observations...

    Yes but it should not be getting updates any more now that PC Tools discontinued it.

    However if someone installs it and it updates I will install it because it is a rather nice program :D

    I am in your grandparents age group and I want to try pc tools. Could you suggest a place I could go for setting the program up for best security.

    i would suggest using other security programs which are also free and are quite well or even better than SDST for 2 main reasons.
    1- the fact that it is discontinued should tell you something significant for the near future . this program will be of no use pretty soon as it is a wide accepted requirement that the AV programs must be continuously updated .
    2- SD is a bit heavy and others are not as heavy and do the same or even better job. Avira AVG or even MSE are pretty light. I have a bad experience with AVAST and can not recommend it .
    unless you are found of SDST just switch to something better
