    Hi all,
I am new and found this forum by typing "Dynasoft registry entries" into a Google search. (On this page: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?p=174925#post174925 in post #10 "thetriune1" has the same problem I do, and Google found this. I use RegCleaner 4.3 to detect new registry entries and "Dynasoft" entries are added every time I reboot Windows XP Pro!

I use AVG, Nod32, Ad-aware, Spybot S&E, SpywareBlaster, Anti Trojan Shield, Trojan Remover and PC Door Guard (plus PC-Cillin's "House Call," and BitDefender's online scans) on a regular basis. I recently added Webroot's Spy Sweeper, Pest Patrol and XoftSpy to the list! (Overkill?) My firewall is Zone Alarm Pro v4.5.594.000. A member on the above mentioned forum recommended that I download HijackThis! and post my log. I am NO expert with these things and would deeply appreciate any help.

    My Heartfelt thanks in advance!

    Gina :)

    Hi gina,

Please surf to http://www.billsway.com/vbspage/ and scroll down to
    Registry Search Tool
    Download, unzip and run RegSrch.vbs
Copy and paste this in the dialog box: Dynasoft

After a while a prompt will come up. Click OK to write the results to wordpad and post them.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Thanks for the response Pieter_Arntz!
I downloaded and ran the tool, but it found nothing! (Screenshot attached.)
I have also searched the registry through Start/Run/regedit/Edit/Find/Dynasoft. Again, no entries. If I restart Windows the entries appear. I will restart Windows now and re-post any entries I find. Please post back with any more ideas, and thanks once again for your help! :) This is a tough one, and I have searched for weeks for answers. Any ideas/help MUCH appreciated!

    Thanks again,
    Gina
    :)

Ok, I restarted Windows and ran the tool again. (Nice tool, thank you! )

    Here are the results:
    REGEDIT4
    ; RegSrch.vbs © Bill James

; Registry search results for string "Dynasoft" 5/11/2004 2:11:34 PM

; NOTE: This file will be deleted when you close WordPad.
; You must manually save this file to a new location if you want to refer to it again later.
; (If you save the file with a .reg extension, you can use it to restore any Registry changes you make to these values.)

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dynasoft]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dynasoft\6455357690131764]

Thanks again for your help! ;)

    Interesting...
I downloaded a Trojan Remover update which required a reboot. (I did not delete the first results' registry keys before I restarted Windows.) The search tool then brought up an additional entry (3 total.) Could I have a program in startup that is infected?

    Here they are:

    REGEDIT4
    ; RegSrch.vbs © Bill James

; Registry search results for string "Dynasoft" 5/11/2004 2:20:24 PM

; NOTE: This file will be deleted when you close WordPad.
; You must manually save this file to a new location if you want to refer to it again later.
; (If you save the file with a .reg extension, you can use it to restore any Registry changes you make to these values.)

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dynasoft]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dynasoft\6455357690131764]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dynasoft\6914765856706905]

Also, I ran Ad-aware and Spybot S&E before I rebooted Windows. I just ran both programs again. Ad-aware came up clean but Spybot S&E has detected a Dropper. (Screen shot attached.) This has happened before, and if I delete this in Spybot it will come back after I reboot Windows.

    Again, thanks for the help!

    Gina
    :)

EDIT: By the way, I deleted the Dropper and Dynasoft entries from the registry (as I do after every Windows reboot) but can make them come back again just by rebooting. This is the strangest computer problem I've ever experienced!

In HijackThis click Config > Misc Tools > Generate Startuplist.
But check the two bozxes below Generate Startuplist before you do.

This will produce a txt file. Post the content of that one.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Pieter,
PLEASE take as much time as you need with this!
I have a few errands to run and will be back in a few hours. If I have to reformat I will do so, and I really can't thank you enough for all your help...

    Hi gina,

    I made a mean contraption. :D

Download the file I attached and save it as
    C:/windows/dynab.reg

Then doubleclick the file and confirm you want to merge it with the registry.

    What´s in it:

    REGEDIT4

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dynasoft]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "BiteMeDyna"="REGEDIT.EXE -s C:/windows/dynab.reg"

    What does it do?
It removes the Dynasoft keys in the registry and makes sure it gets run everytime the computer boots.

    Keep me posted,

    Pieter

    Hi Pieter,

    That was brilliant! :D

I think I may be doing something wrong though...
First (apologies in advance for my naivety) how do I save the file as "C:/windows/dynab.reg?" Do I copy it into my Windows directory?

This is what I did do. I downloaded the file and saved it as "dynab.reg" to my desktop. I double clicked and merged it with my registry. The Dynasoft entries dissappeared! However, as soon as I rebooted Windows they came back as:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dynasoft]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dynasoft\5133731674428332]
    "Z~‡~wv‘†“YQe"="Yz†~|x{‰LDV†~w"

    (Screen shot attached.)
YIKES! What's up with that last line?

Again, I can't thank you enough for helping me with this!

Ah yes. You will have to save it to the Windows directory so it will be done every time you boot.

I still am very curious to find out what puts it back, but no progress there I'm afraid.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Pieter,
I did copy it into Windows' directory, it's in Startup. Unfortunately the entries are STILL coming back... :( I keep adding extra software, trying to find something that has the definitions needed to get the spyware (or dialer, trojan, whatever this is!) The latest is Antiy Ghost Busters and, although it has found other trojans in archives it hasn't fixed the problem. If you know of any good spyware that I haven't installed already, please let me know. If I find the problem I will post back here. Thanks for all your help. It makes things a bit difficult to diagnose when you're not in front of the computer. If the problem persists I'll simply reformat. (I have Ghost CD's but I am not sure how long I have had this problem, so reformatting may be the only answer.)

    Thanks again!

    I've found the culprit!! :D

    Pieter,
After so many online virus & trojan scans, installing numerous mal-ware detection applications, and playing with the registry key you made for me, I finally found the culprit! :D It had nothing to do with a company or software called Dynasoft at all! It is Diskeeper 8.0 that was causing the problems and I found the post (from another Google search) here:

    http://216.239.37.104/translate_c?h...search?q=dynasoft+registry&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8
(Sorry, I cannot copy this link without MyIE2's translating it for me, but here is a direct quote from the forum post:)
I uninstalled Diskeeper and erased all traces from my hard drive and now I can start Windows with NO Dynasoft registry entries! I am so happy, as I was about to do a reformat from the Windows CD (instead of my Ghost CD's) to rid myself of the "Dynasoft" mal-ware! I would have kept using Diskeeper and never understood what was wrong with my computer! Do you think I should write a letter to the authors of Diskeeper? These are not "normal" program registry entries, there were fifty when I first discovered my problem...

Anyway, I just thought I would keep you posted. Thanks for all of your help... ;)

    Peace,
    Gina

I am glad you figured it out. I don't like unsolved puzzles. :)

Hopefully the next person wondering about Dynasoft in the registry will Google and end up finding your post.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Pieter,
I don't like unsolved puzzles either, which is why I was so hesitant to just reformat...

I Googled "dynasoft entries" and the first link pulled up this thread. :)

Again, thanks for your help! :D

I will be back from time to time because this is a great forum.

    Take care,
    Gina
