Yes, imaging is the best remedy to all problems related to computers (software wise of course). Malware is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about restoring an image, but in almost 4 years that I've been restoring images to several computers it was always for either testing new configurations, strange behaviour, windows malfunctioning, it was never related to malware itself.

Paradoxically, restoring images is really the best tool to fix things for people with an average knowledge in computer technology and security. The greatest asset in having several images in different USB hard drives is the knowledge that what ever might happen, I know that nothing is ever lost and I'll be able to solve almost any problem on my own. I have images of Vista in 32 and 64 bit, XP home and Pro with and without programs, latest image and pristine images, space after all is cheap and plenty.

I use the Acronis True Image Home 2011 and the Rollback Rx Pro v9.1 now, and I can recommend them.

Because those two are my last defending ones at my Windows 7 Ultimate K (x64) as solid as "Fratres militiæ Christi Livoniae."
