Seriously? I had no idea. Is it crazy expensive? Jam GPS?

 

There was one such jammer featured in "Enough" with Jennifer Lopez.

The jammer was made in Israel.
They also have a version that hooks up to the car battery and will jam everything in 600-1200 feet. Marketed toward Military Humvees.

This model will block for 5 miles, might have a problem with bridges while being towed.

That FCC rule (from 1934!) covers wireless communications also known as "radio." GPS, cell-phones aren't radio stations or wireless broadcast stations operated by the U.S. government. Read it again, it's pretty specific. All this is still up in the air according to EFF.

 

According to FCC, Cell Phones signals fall under the classification of (Radio Signals). And mobile networks operators are using cellular radio towers AKA BTS.. and jamming the signals of these licensed base stations to prevent cell phones from receiving the signals is illegal in many countries.. for example USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, etc..

 

How many people have been convicted of jamming radio stations?

If agents of the government can be creative and tresspass on my property with no warrant to place a bug, GPS or wireless cameras that transmit using multicast, I guess I will have to be creative as well.

 

Hey, I was joking If TPTB were interested enough to put a tracker on your car, they'll probably notice when it disappears. A better strategy would be to find it, and remove or inactivate it. Looking for antennas would be a good start. An RF sniffer would also be useful. Even better would be to hack the bug to report incorrect locations

If it's your ex-whatever, OTOH, you might get away with a jammer.
