Panda Anti-Virus & Internet Security 2011

Testing 0 day malware through MDL, when scanning the exe PAV pro 2011 detects it as suspicious and moves it to the quarantine.

Restoring the exe and rescanning, PAV says it's clean.

That's with the hotfix applied.

I've got another exe that Panda is saying it's clean, but after uploading it to virustotal, Panda should be detecting it as suspicious.

 

Just to be clear.... the hotfix is for the on-access when executing programs, not for manual on-demand scans.

 

Why has it stopped detecting the first exe as suspicious and it hasn't detected the second exe as suspicious ?

I can pm you the exe's with the virustotal report & panda logs if you wish ?

I installed Panda IS (thanks for the key pbust) . Also installed the patch. I really like it, it is light. But..... today my computer hanged during startup of windows!! I had to go to safe mode and uninstall Panda. Installed it again, so far so good.

 

In my event log I see events like this (after windows boots):

"Panda On-Access Anti-Malware Service terminated. There was an error: Improper function" (it's my translation so in English it could be little different )


despite that as I said earlier system is running blazing fast.

I find something wrong with pis 16.00.00.
After mails were added to SPAM manually by panda's icon button, msimn.exe constantly crashed when closing outlook express.
The system is Win XP sp3 updated.

Once a couple of boot's I have a problem with major slowdown.

I assume that Panda is responsble becouse I found (repeated) event's log like this

"Panda Anti-Virus Service was unable to start Network Infection Origin Indentification functionality. (Error status was 30000009).

The absence of this operation functionality will not affect to normal anti-malware protection."

and also after system freeze I saw entry like this one:

Yep it is possible... 101% Possible...

Panda Sandbox is optional feature which does not come with any of their product ... You have to download it separately. And as far firewall is concerned you can disable while installing Panda AV 2011 ...
