dropped all real time protection except Sandboxie. Hitman Pro is extremely impressive. To me, it may the one best product on the market for its ability.

In a few minutes, you'll have changed your mind after I tell you that you're vulnerable to 0-day malware. You need at least Prevx. *puppy*

trjam, I know you want to switch protection setup again. ;)

I tested NIS 2011. Good points: Very, very low resource usage, good gui, easy for beginners. However, even though it seems to be better than most suites, it still leaks pretty easily to some malware.

Every security software leaks ... Reason, because malware authors are getting too smart.

Yes, that's why I'm always flaming these security suites.

You should always run a layered defense with different software made by different vendors (lightweight of course and they should be strong). Never depend solely on one vendor's software. Be it a suite or a single application.

Importantly, some leak more than others. Everything is relative. I'm sure 99% of Wilders knows by now there is no 100% solution.

Got to reformat my laptop. I'm doing it while writing this post...

So a fresh XP install. Thinking about mixing different vendors this time.

Avast! Free (thinking about MSE aswell) + Jetico Firewall + Dfensewall HIPS + MBAM Real-Time + No Autorun

    Overkill maybe?

I just did a reinstall of Win7 Home Premium, and my ESET license is about to expire, so I'm testing free:

    Realtime: MSE

On Demand: MBAM and Hitman Pro.

That's it other than WIN 7's firewall and UAC.

I think I'll probably stay with this setup, more than enough protection for my habits.

After planning on installing Mamutu today I decided I have no current need for it. Now that Windows Defender is active I feel very secure, SpyNet reminds me of a light Norton Insight which I find is very useful.
