Considering how small are the differences, it would probably be a good idea to change the methodology for the upcoming full test. For all the tests you should use a raw image of your test system to always get the same file layout. The speed differences between an action performed on a file located on the outer part of the platters and a file located towards the middle or even on the inner area is bigger than the differences in this test. And considering how the built-in windows defragmenter works (I assume that is what was used), the files could be all over the place. Not a big deal for normal usage, but this is supposed to be a comparison test.

That's why performance tests are rarely accurate. Any piece of software will perform/behave differently on every single system, unless all the systems have the same file layout. And for the average end user the results may not reflect the actual performance on his system.

My experience is opposite. I must admint that I have some issues with Panda, but despite it in my quite old system (athlon 3800), it's running blazing fast (except increased boot time). I tested many AV and with Panda I have the same feeling like when I have avast installed - I couldn't notice any difference with and without av. So probably there is some incompatibility between your third-party application and Panda.
In case of my problems Panda technicians connected to my computer via remote view and made some troubleshooting to diagnosis the issue.

But back to topic. Congratulations to Panda they definitely on track, ESET and Avast (I'm surprised to see that eset is little bit higher than avast)

    Regards

No , I disagree. I have many years of experience with computers and 5+ years professionally (doing it for living) and I can well understand if there is a conflict or not . I do this almost every day. Additionally I test on pretty clean image now and in the past have tested Panda on many many different computers and configurations we have/have had in our small office. I have colleagues who work as sys admins and support technicians in some authorities and companies and I have heards their experience , too.

I have also used Panda versions 2004/2005/2006 and after that it became problematic , IMO. Even pbust from Panda Security confirmed in post #56 here that he couldn't find something out of ordinary on my last image.

Thx for the test :thumb: Great to see so many AV's doing well in terms of speed - That's also my experience :D Very little difference between most of them - good to see :) Rare these days with AV's that really slows down :thumb:
