Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.77 Free does not properly "close" data DVD's on my new ASUS DRW-24B1ST SATA DVD Burner (#1 DVD Burner on NewEgg). It will burn the DVD's and verify that they are OK. However, Windows Explorer is not able to read the DVD's.

I used the file burning feature of IMGBurn for burning the exact same files to DVD and the burned DVD's are fully readable. I also booted Pupply Linux and used Puppy's burn software to burn the same data DVD which is also readable.

    DVD Media Used: Verbatim DVD+R

Anyone else having problems with Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.77 Free?

My old DVD burner (Samsung) which recently failed worked fine with Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.77 Free.

    Thanks in Advance.

Thanks much for this 9.12 build.
I think that it is the most up to date full version available as of right now...

Also thanks to you, for this most recent release number, but it is the Advanced version (english and german only?) and I think this one is kinda limited in its fonctions.

Someone knows what exactly is the differences between their BS' regular [ABS2010], and this "Advanced" [ABS2010 A] version?

    EDIT
Here is the little bits and pieces I found by googling:

<< Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010 Advanced [ABS2010 A] is actually the free version of Ashampoo Burning Studio 9 [ABS2010] (with full version number of 9.24), which costs $39.99. [ABS2010 A] has the same feature sets with Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010 [ABS2010] version 9.10, without the advanced tag), with added ability to create and rip in ISO disc image format. >>

    and/or

<< The free versions of Burning Studio [ABS2010 A] mainly miss the video editing features and maybe some templates in the cover designer of the full versions. But other than this they offer the full blown burning experience (...)! However the free versions are only available through chip.de and computerbild.de and are not available on the ashampoo.com website. >>

After reading there, it gets me even more confused now, if ever possible!!

<< Too many doubts by everybody too little time to answer all of them. Anyway, if you have any clue about all these versions Ashampoo ALWAYS has around, please enrich us! Ashampoo’s site not even mentions this Advanced product. I have ABS2010 v 10.0.3. Although this is not the “Advanced”, still its version v9.24 is lower so all I could guess is that the one I have is newer, better and more complete, correct? >>

I'm using the Advanced v.9.24 and as far as I can tell it is not limited in any way, has all of the features of the regular versions, but it don't support free upgrades to newer regular versions. However this is the latest free version available because it would be best to go with the latest version. If you do find out that it is limited, then you can simply try the one from MajorGeeks. Might want to save an installer for both versions in case they get discontinued.

    Thanks.:)
