I like LastPass so much. It made me abandon RoboForm, which served me well for more than 2 years.

The simplicity of the service is great: all I needed to "install" was the "LastPass Fill!" bookmarklet. Very occasionally I also access my "LastPass Vault" online for some advanced tasks.

Until today, the LastPass server has been always up when I needed it, and I never felt the absence of the LastPass plugin - which is also very good but less handy than a small bookmarklet.

Needless to say, the Premium features are useless to me. The Free version has absolutely all I need. This, of course, is the main advantage over RoboForm limited free version.

I also dropped Roboform for Lastpass recently. Anyways, thanks NICK for the update.

I have been using RoboForm (RF) for years. It works great and is (in my opinion) extremely secure, particularly with a strong master password. This assumes, of course your computer itself is secure, which if it were not, I guess would pose a problem for all password managers.

However, I have just ditched it in favor of LastPass (LP). And for one reason only. BLACKBERRY.

I've also been using a Blackberry for years, and LP is the perfect solution for my PC and BB needs. I'm kinda sad to be saying so long to RF, but I've never been afraid of change.

I have to admit I was at first leary of storing all of my financial password data on a web server. However, I've been reading up on the security of LastPass for a couple of month's now, and it appears to be solid. And for $12/year subscription, very inexpensive, too.

And the application works great. I've only experienced a single problem so far - an autofill problem on one web site. And I think that problem is more related to my use of the Beta version of the Chrome browser than with LP.

If anyone has any hard evidence on a security issue with LP, feel free to share. I've been hard pressed to find one.

I don't use ccleaner so I can't really comment with 100% accuracy, but I highly doubt it. LastPass data is saved (encrypted) on their web server. So its there for good until you delete it. Now, I understand an encrypted file containing password data is also saved to the users PC, and I cannot say for sure what ccleaner does to that file. Either way, I'm pretty sure your data on the web server is safe and secure.

No, Ccleaner doesn't erase LastPass encrypted saved data.

LastPass extension for Google Chrome works with SRWare Iron as well, at least according to several reports over the web of people using this combination.

I suspect a keylogger could present a problem, but that's probably true for just about any other alternative. And if there is a keylogger on your PC, your safe from nothing. I think most subscribers to Wilders would agree that keeping their PC secure is priority #1.

    Yes, works fine with Iron.

I like the password generator amd secure notes features in LastPass :thumb:

And for those concerned about keyloggers, just secure your browsing sessions with the free version of Prevx "SafeOnline". Was only one of 2 programs if i remember correctly that still protected users if a keylogger had already compromised the system.

I had to reinstall Chrome and I figured, since I would have to put in all my passwords again, why not try out Lastpass? So I did, and I'm loving it.

One thing I would mention, SafeOnline may not get along with Chrome:

So if you experience similar problems, you can use Trusteer Rapport.

Wow! Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but you would never catch me using my computer for ANYTHING, particularly a program dealing with sensitive data like passwords, if I ever thought my PC was compromised by a keylogger. I'd be looking to reformat hard drive and reinstall operating system.

I think tobacco's recommendation applies to a scenario where you have a keylogger on your computer that you aren't aware of. SafeOnline would be another layer of security for that possibility.

That appears to be an extreme case. Besides the SOL tab disappearing after 5-10 minutes of browsing (protection is still there - chrome graphics issue) in Iron, works great for me.

SOL still provides browser protection even if your system has already been compromised.

There are compatibility issues between them. I would ask more about that in the prevx forum.

But back to Lastpass - wonderful app!
