I'm assuming registry keys, installer files not deleted, and so on.

ThreatFire, don't care how old it is, for the majority of severe files, does a fantastic job.

Someone post some screenshots! :p Actually never mind, just read clocks said gui is the same.

I don't remember, and I cleared the shapshot.

For those asking for pictures, it looks the same as it has for the last couple years. I didn't perceive any cosmetic differences. Honestly, I am not sure what was new in this beta.

Also of note, on level 4 it prompted on too many safe programs, like MBAM. So if I were to retest it some time, I would test it on it's default level of 3.

I think it is a nice add-on, but maybe been neglected a bit over the last year or so.

It's the same ole, I want to make our security app look like Luna XP. I gave it a try, set it on 4, added custom rules and ran it for twenty four hours with no BSOD. The same can't be said for the last release version. BSOD before finishing adding custom rules. I like TF alot but somewhere after the early 4.0 versions they did something to it that just chokes my system down. Memory Footprint is very small on it's few processes that it runs but monitoring my whole system shows an increase of over 100 extra mb's being used and distributed throughout all running processes.

Did you delete its Quarantine before scanning with MBAM?

I wouldn't have mattered. I blocked certain files/actions, and they ran anyway.

Apologies for reviving this old thread, but the year is about to end, and I believe we haven't heard any news on this one.

From what I gather at the PCT forum, the original Cyberhawk team kept on when Symantec acquired Novatix was recently shown the exit door. I think it was Novatix...

A good prediction for 2011 is a next generation Threatfire as stand-alone product will be abandoned, no version 5, and v4.x will kludge on with maintenance updates. The code will continue and see development in other PCT products until Symantec shuts down all of that operation for good.

It may be interesting to test the old Cyberhawk against the TF beta and see if any improvements have been made compared with its progenitor.
