We use ESET RA manager to administer all of our ESET installations. We use ESET NOD32 for the servers and ESET Smart Security for all of our Windows Client machines. We have two separate licenses for the products. There are 70 NOD32 licenses and 30 Smart Security licenses. We had both licenses loaded into ESET RA manager and it always showed both licenses with a total of 100 clients available. The 30 Smart Security licenses were going to expire on 28/08/2010 and we have just renewed it for another year. The NOD32 licenses are valid until 28/08/2011 and as such have not been renewed this year. After receiving the new license information and new nod32.lic file I loaded it into the ESET RA console. After uploading the file ESET is now reporting that there is only one license key available with 70 clients available, which is the original NOD32 licenses, my new ESET licenses seem to have disappeared. I have tried reloading both nod32.lic files into the system but it only ever recognizes the NOD32 one. I have been through this uploading of new license files before and never had such a problem. Anyone have any ideas why my Smart Security license appears to have vanished and how can I make it available from within ESET RA Console again?

ERA just looks for the 'best' license file and uses that, I don't think you can do anything about that yourself. You need to contact your reseller and ask for a new license file which can be uploaded/added together with your other license.

Thats not the way it used to work, I used to be able to see both licenses from within the ESET RA console License Manager. I have used ESET for several years now and each time we upgraded or extended our license I just uploaded it to the server and I could see them all. This time I can only see one of them, the NOD32 70 client license. Curiously enough though, it appears that all the clients connected to this RA server have stopped complaining that their license is about to expire.

I don't know how you setup you clients, but if they update from ESET servers and/or have a username/password setup they probably check for license validity, and since you renewed (same UN/PW) it has updated the license date.

And maybe in the past you always received license files which can cooperate. I use one ERA server for a lot of SMB customers and I needed a special license for that to be able to add multiple licenses with different end dates in the license manager. Perhaps someone from ESET can tell you how it works exactly.
