From the first time you use the license code or setup an account with the coupon code I believe! https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1728759&postcount=33

    Tripple Helix,

I hope you don't mind my interruption ;)

From my account at Emsisoft :

Meaning that when you convert your coupon code to a licence, the licence will also be activated. So if you want to wait with installing, you better wait with converting your coupon code as well.

But ofcource you can already set up an account at Emsisoft ( Or you can use your existing account if you already have one ).

    Greetz, Red.

Btw. thnx for the Mamutu licence :)

There's a little over 20 mins before the start.

Don't forget, if your entered yesterday, you cannot enter today as well.

With mamutu you get 30 days free so you could wait 30 days before using your coupon if you wanted, would give you a little more time ;) . I'm not sure if its the same with Anti Malware.

    Follow up...

The question was asked here yesterday if Anti-Malware 5.0 contained Mamutu, and if it was version 3 or 2? I posed that question to Emsisoft in three different places... on their forum, via support email, and PM to Christian Mairoll.

Yesterday I posted in this thread the support forum response. I'll re-post that one, along with the other two for anyone who is interested.

Support forum response: "Mamutu is a stripped down version of EAM. Not the other way around. So EAM has always the latest version of our behavior blocking technology. But to answer your question: Mamutu 3.0 is based on Emsisoft Anti-Malware 5.0."
Email response from Support: "Mamutu 3.0 is based on EAM 5.0."
Christian Mairoll response: "Both products rely on the same behavior blocker engine. Mamutu 3.0 just adds x64 support that Anti-Malware 5.0 has already included."

Thanks to ctrlaltdelete, TripleHelix and Rednose! for your definitive answers regarding how to handle a situation where a user does not want to start using his or her license right away.

The simple answer I learned is... the license clock starts ticking the moment you use the code!

I know on the calendar of updates post it says it may take 24-48 hrs for a response...Will the license info be coming via PM or email?

    Thanks

PS...thanks for the great giveaway! This is perfect, as soon I'll be transitioning into a new security setup and Mamutu will be a nice addition to it!

I also appreciate such an excellent gift. The reply with license took about an hour. I expected a day or so, but Triple Helix came through in warp time.

I am under the impression that Mamutu will run well with my current set up on the laptop. I am not sure where I have a gap that it will fill.

    Regards,
    Jerry

I currently have a license for OA++, and now have a license for Emsisoft AM. I realize that Tall Emu used the A2 engine, but I'm not sure if it was exactly the same (some clones can be crippled in minor ways).

So I'm wondering if OA++ will be equivalent to OA free + Emsisoft AM with respect to malware detection and cleaning.

Thank you in advance for any response.

OA++ uses the scanner in a different way to EAM will.

EAM is much more configurable in terms of the scanner too.

There is probably some feature difference in other parts of OA aswell.

FYI. OA premium and EAM 5 work very well together. I'm aware that there is a BB and HIPS running but they work well together. Its almost like they were meant to be together. Hmmmm
