    Oh Hell;
No wonder my computer's running slow ! :D

I've edited my earlier post out of embarrassment as much as the need for accuracy.

    Thanks !

Yes it does work with the trial. However, BitDefender made it clear the serial codes should be used, at least initially, with the build provided. If not, there are no guarantees...

They already panicked and made the offer UK only, temporarily.

If you adjust the privacy controls you will notice a substantial speed increase. It appears that their cookie handling process needs optimized better.

System seemed a bit sluggish initially. I think it does a lot of scanning at first, but once it's been used a bit performance seems to improve.

Also, turning off "Privacy Control" and "Antiphishing" is a must, imo.

If it's still hard on your system, try gaming mode?

Since I have the key and it should update to 2011 without a hitch, I'm gonna retest on Monday. Seems a bit sluggish.

Congrats wearetheborg. Also, try BitDefender Antivirus 2011. I have beta tested their total security. Seems promising solution for computer security. I am also waiting for 2011 to test in VM...

I replaced Avast with Bit Defender and its working very smooth on my XP
SP3. I disabled anti phishing and left other things on default. Unlike others
here my machine does not feel sluggish and I think I will keep this AV for
the 1 year that was offered. I recommend to anybody that got the license
    to give it a try.

XP is the only SO where Bitdefender can run smoothly XD ...
try it in W7 and you will feel the difference, thats the only reason why i´m stuck with other lighter AV, the 2011 is a pain in the back while windows start but after, it works pretty good :thumb:

    Hi,

Thanks for the link, but that's for the 2010 versions.

I want to install the 2011 version without having to upgrade from the 2010 version, as from hckyo's thread it looks like the license will install with no problem with the 2011 build.

I downloaded the TS version and it is showing up as 14.0.23.312 and I do not see BETA anywhere in the program so I would say yes.

The 2011 seems about the same on my machine which is not bad for a full AV, did notice there is now a site search guard like AVG's that does seem a bit sluggish sort of like AVG's when it first came out. It works in the Google search even in Opera as well as IE8 and Firefox, haven't checked to see if it can be disabled.
