I'm using POPFile and I get the stuff twice, obviously because port 110 is scanned. First when popfile gets the mail and second when my e-mail program fetches the mail from popfile.
How many instances of spam-filters do you use? Perhaps it's something with your anti-spam solution.

Mmmmmmmm......... Interesting thought, I suppose it could be. I use iHateSpam as the only spam blocker, but my ISP also has some kind of (spam) blocker. I don't subscribe to that tho......

Maybe someone else can confirm this train of thought or come up with something else??

Since it is confirmed your email is scanned, why leave the message on?
    Just a thought. :)

Yes, I've done that, but more to the point, is my mail being scanned 4 times and therefore slowing down the (mail) system? If not, then why 4 noticeso_O

    Hi Cambox,

I personally wasn't ignoring your post --- just couldn't think of a helpful answer. You say you are only using one spam blocker so it would make sense that you would get the checking notice twice maybe, yes? But why 4 times? Strange. Anybody else got any ideas to help Cambox?

    Cambox,

Just realised, I use McAfee SpamKiller and I only get one checking notice on my emails. Doesn't help you though! Re-install NOD32 maybe?

What I want to know is:
If you told us in your post that you got the NOD32 message 4 times, why did you include all 4 instances of the NOD32 message? Couldn't you have just included the NOD32 message once? We knew from your post that it appeared in your email 4 times.

    Anyway, my 2 cents... o_O

SMaus' post above gives the answer. Basically the email is being scanned before the spam app gets it and again when the email client gets it. There have been threads regarding this in the past. I don't recall if uninstalling and reinstalling the antispam program might reduce the notification to one instance but that's another thing to try.
