My hard drive crashed on my Intel iMac. I am running Windows XP in Apple's Boot Camp. I received an offer in my e-mail for a free upgrade to ESET Smart Security 4.2. I don't need the firewall or the anti-spam. I use a router along with the Windows XP built-in firewall. Can I just upgrade to Nod 32 Antivirus 4? I guess I could turn the firewall and the anti-Spam filter off.

Moderators, if it posts it in the wrong forum please feel free to move.

ETA: I was using Nod32 antivirus version 3, so the builds are different. Right now I have no antivirus on my Windows machine. I need to start reinstalling all my programs. I did not lose any data.

    Thanks.

Using your ESET Smart Security credentials (UN/PW) , you can use ESET NOD32 Antivirus . No , you can turn off anti-spam and firewall but that will result in not using them , not uninstalling them.

If you are not going to use the firewall and anti-spam , simply install NOD32 (only) without ESS - you can use the same username/password.

If you currently have valid subscription to ESET NOD32 or ESET Smart Security (means your license is active) , you can use any program version you want - the license allows you use either version 2, version 3 or version 4. It is up to you if you want version 4 (4.2) or no.
