You can either go with Acronis or Norton Ghost. I love Norton Ghost.

Nah, msot of the time i just select "Quick format" which is just like naming all sectors to clean so it don't really wears out anything, it takes just a few seconds to delete all (Remember it doesn't deletes all really, just name all the space as free and that's a go) :D :D

Yes will all know formatting fastens the computer but there is one more advantage of formatting, we can use any good retail software without buying it without any problem. Just reformat the computer when trail is over :) .

After using MSE for a year or so, installed the new beta. Got tired of enabling it every start up and removed it.
    Using Avast! 5 (again).
Removed PC Tools because it got ridiculously noisy, I don't know why, same machine no changes in software or how I use it... tried the beta of version 7 for a few days but tooooo many problems made me remove it.
Went back to giving Comodo a try. Enabled the firewall with automatic response for known programs, same for D+ on safe mode and the Sandbox, who would figure I've had 0 issues so far....

    Funny how things turn.

    Martin.-

Temporarily replaced ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.2 by AVG Anti-Virus Free 9.0. Really looking forward to version 10, I think I will use that when my ESET license ends and version 5 doesn't match up my expectations.

Next to that nothing changed; using Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and using Hitman Pro 3.5.

Well, these days sweet & simple:

    The Panda Cloud AV
    SUPERAntiSpyware (on demand)
    SpywareBlaster
    BitDefender QuickScan (Google extension)
    Hardware/Software Firewalls

    NoScript/WOT/Ghostery (where applicable)
    Common Sense (where applicable)

    I reckon that's enough for me! ;)

Has anybody tried BitDefender QuickScan (Firefox extension)? It uses the "in-the-cloud" scanning service. It sounds good but does it really detects threats?

I just can't seem to barter a need for any other security apps then already that i use in my siggy, in no particular order or rotation of course. ;)

All is tight as a heavy pipe sealer here and with DriveSnapshot and/or Paragon handling the backups, even any hardware malfunction is of no consequence anymore.

Funny how time and experience coupled with the great minds right here, courtesy Wilder's super members and some choice well developed software from free to licensed varieties can make all the difference in 100% total protection for Windows.
