pdf always sandboxed

i've noticed that my pdf files open sandboxied in foxit reader portable but not in SumatraPDFportable i never noticed it before anyone know if this is normal?

Two things...first, don't bump a thread that you just started earlier in the day. It's already near the top of the board, and it's annoying as hell. Second, how can anyone possible help you without more information/ They can't. Post you SBIE configuration if you want anyone to take you seriously.

 

You apparently have Foxit Reader listed as a forced program in your Sandbox settings. If you also want pdfs to open sandboxed with Sumatra, you'll have to add it to the forced programs list.

You evidently use the free version and not the pro, because there are no forced program in that configuration. If there is no more to it then you have no forced programs.

so why is it that the pdfs are always sandboxed
i've checked options in both sandboxie and foxit and found nothing ?

ps just noticed only 2 of the pdfs open sandboxed
the other one opens unsandboxed ??

 

What I'm telling you is that if you are using the free version it's impossible to have any .exe, pdf viewer or otherwise, automatically launching inside a sandbox. Meaning that the only way to get anything sandboxed is if the user manually launches it that way.

 

if i open foxit its unsandboxed
when i open pdf [those 2] pdf is sandboxed
i did nothing
yet the impossible [according to you]
is happening

 

if i open the pdf via foxit they are unsandboxed!!!!
if i double click the pdf they open sandboxed ?

 

Reinstall sandboxie and see if that works.

I suggest you go to "Shell Integration" menu as shown here, put a checkmark on "Add right click action "Run Sandboxed"..." and open your pdf's with "Run Sandboxed" option in context menu.

 

its already in my right click menu i don't want them sandboxed as i said if i open them via foxit they aren't if i just double click pdf they are i can live with that

 

hmm my bad then, sorry, i misread thread title and your original post, i thought you were concerned with some pdf vulnerability or something; regarding what you have just stated, i find that very strange providing the UserSettings you displayed doesn't show that, did you strip its content whyle posting??... to simplify i would probably try to reinstall Sandboxie as suggested

 

you sure you didnt open the pdf from links within a sandboxed browser? coz that automatically opens the linked files sandboxed regardless of any forced policies.

no i opened by double clicking the pdf

i'm actually happy with this as i can open them unsandboxed but they'll be sandboxed if double clicked

reinstalled and updated now it asks if i want to run in default sandbox or outside
