The most lightweight AV as of july 2010.

Greetings, it's my first post here but I've been browsing this forum for years.
Anyway, as the topic indicates, I'm looking for a solution for a gamer, Win 7 x64 here.
I've been using Nod32 for years but performance hit is noticable during certian tasks, therefore, I'm wondering if there's something faster.
I've stumbled upon this topic - https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=263940 and I'm curious if this tweak can be applied to the latest avast.
Hope it doesn't break the a vs b vs c rule.
