Well I will be getting a new machine soon so my current machine will become a family machine. Before it does I want to make sure my current machine has a strong setup and my new one has a nice setup to.

    Family Machine

This machine is most likely to be used for Online Games, reading blogs and news, and possibly a few downloads. I

    Panda Cloud AV PRO
    Winpatrol PLUS
    Malwarebytes PRO
Firefox (Web of Trust or Browser Defender addon)

I have also thought about GeSwall (or Defensewall if they put on a nice sale :ninja: ) The only thing I worry about is if I put GeSwall on and it wipes out the whole OS (which has happened to some people before).

    My Machine

Since I will be starting fresh this time I thought if I want to make changes I better do it now. So here is what I have out so far:

    Panda Cloud AV PRO

Yeah it is a short list of what I have figured out so far, I really want to try a HIPS but I have not chosen one yet (I am debating between Online Armor, DefenseWall and Malware Defender)

I have also debated on possibly putting SpySweeper on the new machine, I would use the free 6 month trial first the buy it at one of the cheap 5-10 buck sales when they have around the net if I like it.

I'm currently running Prevx on my netbook. Any other AV, including Panda Cloud Antivirus, cripples it.

Plus, Prevx is undoubtedly the best protection you can have at the moment.

doing Prevx on netbook, Avast Internet Security on 2 laptops and one desktop. This is the first time I have tried Avasts suite and it is very good. I am very impressed with the firewall.

I hear you. For me, it works so well, it's almost boring. Strange but true. For me its my fall-back app, when I am done tinkering with other apps, avast! is the one I return to.

Removed Prevx, it was over-working my hard drive. MSE Beta seems pretty solid so far. But the Emsisoft Emergency Kit is finding some things the others, including MSE and Avast, let get by. Thinking about getting Emsisoft Anti-Malware 5.

I actually did not know this Kit existed, so thanks for the heads up.
A deep scan found nothing on my everyday machine (except an old SpyCop executable, which I happily erased), and so far has found a hiwire registry trace on a second computer.

I'm glad you mentioned the Kit, it's a handy tool to supplement MBAM and HitmanPro. :thumb:

Glad someone found something I said here useful.;) But word gets around quick here when something good comes along. I heard about it here 2 days ago, after using Emsisoft Anti-Malware 5 as an on-demand scanner after the trial period ran out. Emergency Kit is a much better solution for that.
