stubborn search.x variant ? can't kill..

aggressive popups "spy deleter" and various search pages "searchspotter" is one of them. i noticed mystery .dll's showing up in system32 similar to the search.x variant i had earlier on a different machine.

ran current versions of cwshredder and spybot S&D. cwshredder removed all but keeps having to take out "search.x" infection. i checked for the problems associated with "AppInit_DLLS" using reglite, but this is different, since there is no value (No rogue dll this time!!)

wow this one is really a tough one!
there must be a hidden dll doing this like the "logn.dll" problem i had with a different variant of search.x.
using reglite, i did not find a value for AppInit_DLLS so i have no idea where this bugger is.

but the symptoms are similar, mystery dlls are generated in windows\system32 all with the same creation date.

i tried to rename as many suspicious ones as possible, but it keeps coming back after a reboot. again a similar situation with the other search.x variant.

also here are some other observations:
if i search on "spyware" with any search engine, it comes up with "spy deleter" popup, which apparently has scripts in it that infect the pc. also it bypasses my popup blocker.

when i go to wilderssecurity.com, i get blasted with tons of popups:
"the shield 2004" very aggressive !
"pcsecurity shield"
"next-a"
"hacker smacker"
"odysseusmarketing"

anyway, that's all i have right now on my problem.

dont know what to do next....

 

i noticed that spybots s&d immunity reported on xp login, that "msgked.exe" was trying to update...so i blocked it.
also turned on the xp firewall, and then also renamed the following suspicious files.

notice there are files missing, that's because I renamed them. the BHO's still get updated by the infection, it appears crippled, since there is no valid dll for it to link to. some stuff i just left, since it does nothing now.
