Whenever I open a file on a network drive then change and save it, it remains "in use" even after the program has closed. Any ideas?

It doesn't matter with app you create/rename a file. Any connectivity problems that you are aware of?

How about any continuous file synchronization or backup apps running? I've run into conflicts like this both with Windows Live Sync and with AJC Backup running.

    Perhaps Unlocker would help.

I'll take a stab - this or MicVista's post. It could be the drive needs a remap with new credentials.

I checked this today and its not specific to Office its any files stored on the shared network drive, however its just one machine which is affected by this problem.

Hmm, I did look but was in a little bit of a rush and forgot what happened.
I'll find out when I go back in.
