Come this Monday, Valve, the company behind famous titles such as Counter-Strike, Half-Life and Left4Dead are to launch a brand new completely free game. Available only on Steam, it will feature 4 player co-op, 64 achievements, statistics, leaderboards, and over 40 various weapons you can use to plunge death to the alien enemy. Along with this Valve plan to release an SDK to encourage modding.

More information is available on the Alien Swarm store page located here.

Steam is required to play this game, and can be downloaded for Mac or PC here.

The game itself will be Windows only at first. But since Valve are slowly making Mac copies of all of their games, it's a safe bet this will come to Mac also.

Looks pretty cool. Looks like it's gonna be an intense game.

I find that hard to believe to be honest :p The requirements are really low. Any computer bought within the last 8 or so years should be able to run it.

I got this computer late last year and I checked Can I Run It and it said I can't even run Command and Conquer The First Decade. And that has games from the late 90s to early 200s. :p I got a cheaper laptop because I didn't want to spend a lot of money at the time.

Thanks elapsed... Will have to put down Torchlight, TF2, and Borderlands to give this a try. :argh: Steam is the work of the devil, I bought too many games during the 4th of July sale.
