    Did anyone miss this new reg setting that is only set with an uninstall/reinstall and doesn't seem to be there with an over install?
    No slowdowns here on this quadcore with or without the reg setting.

    I do find things a bit snappier if I create a 256 meg ramdrive and set that for Sandboxie's main storage folder.

    I'm also usually in Returnil mode using the memory cache method.

    You can isolate any of your USB drives in Sandboxie. Just assign permanent drive letters to them. ie. I have my external HD assigned as X my white USB flash drive as W and my Purple FD as P, etc etc. Then add them to Sandboxie.
    Works beautifully. ( except I am colour-blind) :(

    Vasa1, you don't need to do clean installs with Sandboxie. I always do over
    the top installation and is done in 20 seconds. Thats one of the recommended
    ways to upgrade. I always done it this way and it worked perfectly every time.

    Hi Bo, I started doing this only for recent updates because it appeared that "upgrading" was not working for me (maybe some firewall setting?). In any case, all goes smoothly.

    @Bo,

    When you upgrade you will NOT get the registry tweak mentioned above. You'll need to uninstall and reinstall to get the registry tweak and it is only in this version that we have this registry thingy.:p

    For future versions, just upgrade will do.;)

    The installation setup will ask if you want to keep your settings. Simply reply "yes".

    Thanks for that. And, if I ever want to transfer settings to another ocmputer, is there a way to do that and thanks.

    Thanks for the information. I have just updated my Sandboxie because of this news.

    Sandboxie never told me that an update was due. So it appears to be a manual check.

    tzuk has defined that new official versions are not noticed by Sandboxie until a few time later they have been released.

    When you uninstall you don't have the option to keep you settings. Only the option to install the newest version which is the one you're uninstalling and you have the option to uninstall and then the settings are lost. What to do?

    When you download the latest version, run the installer. It will give you the option to uninstall, and ask you if you want to keep your settings.

    Hello Peter,

    When I downloaded the latest version of Sandboxie, it went like a dose of salts with no problem except waiting for it to finish.

    I seem to remember an option on the wizard selection saying "do you wish to uninstall the previous version or overwrite it ?" I said "overwrite it" and off it went on it`s buggy ride. Everything was still there, all my settings preserved like nothing had happened.

    You missed the point. You have to uninstall and reinstall to put the registry tweak into effect.

    nanana1, I know that to get the registry thingy we must do a clean install but
    I decided not to do that because my Sandboxie always works great. This tweak
    is for making start ups faster and mine has never been bad. What I am saying
    is, if the shoe fits dont fix it.
    Thanks
    Bo

    For those who want the registry tweak and do not want to do a uninstall and reinstall, just save this as a .reg file and apply to include it in your registry.:cool:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SbieSvc]
    "Group"="UIGroup"
