I really like GDATA as an antivirus software...it seems to offer very good protection...What I really hate is that diamond (check mark in 20110 which turns orange and red if you don't scan your system after 7 days....I really do not need the AV to remind me every now and again that I haven't scanned my pc....I'm perfectly capable of scanning it on my own when I feel like it...Is there a way to turn this thing off?
    Thanks...

You can uncheck this option when you install the product.

If you already installed... open G Data, at Virus check search for More functions button, click on Schedule and uncheck Automatic virus checks.

    Unfortunately, that wasn't it...
Scheduled scans were disabled, but the a big red exclamation mark appears if you do not scan your system in 10 days...Very annoying...either you scan your pc every 10 days or you see a big red warning in the main window..
I won't be getting GDATA after all...

I got the same issue, but I'm afraid it will not turn green unless you do a full system scan (Quick scan won't do it).

I leave my system on 24/7 so I just have it do a full scan once a week at 2:00 am, not a big deal too me. When I tried Norton NIS 2010 it would do a idle scan several times a day & I could not stop it. That was enough to make me not use it!

I just got a copy of the IS 2011 through the TrialPay offer they have.

I hope I'm not going to see this thing bug me like this too.

G Data seems like a really great program and you seem to like it all for just this ONE reason?

Come on now, when things don't go our way and we see a problem, then CONTACT the developer and express your thoughts, ideas, concerns, bug reports etc...

If all you're going to do is just bail out and run then you're not helping anyone.

After all if they hear from you and others, then guess what, maybe, hopefully they'll give us an option :)

Personally I don't need the Web Protection and Phising or Email sections so it would be nice if we could uninstall those during the installation and I sent them an email expressing it.

    Anyhow...

HEY by the way, anyone know a contact for the support or bug reporting?

    THANKS

P.S. Maybe these forms are good enough?

If this really is a problem to you, please pm me.
It's possible to cheat and set the relevant registry entry onto a date in the future...

Nice tip. At least there is a registry hack for those ppl who don't like how the UI behaves in this particular case :thumb:
