The complete set of changes to Sandboxie since version 3.442 covers over 100 issues.

* Support for Synaptics trackpad scrolling and Logitech SetPoint mouse horizontal scrolling.
* The Run Sandboxed dialog box expands vertically to accomodate a longer list of sandboxes, and includes a new Run Outside Sandbox option to bypass Forced Programs.
* Messages SBIE1307 and SBIE1309 issued less frequently.
* Improvements to the stability, robustness and performance of Sandboxie.
* Improved support for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7. Support for 64-bit Windows should now be on par with 32-bit Windows.
* Improved support for Microsoft products: Windows Media Player 11, Windows Office 2010, Windows Live Mail.
* Improved support for third-party security software: McAfee SiteAdvisor, avast! Antivirus, AVG Anti-Virus, Blink Internet Security (64-bit), Kasperksy Internet Security, Online Armor, Panda Cloud Antivirus.

I just upgraded.

I only had a couple of minor issues that resulted from having both Internet and Start/Run Access Restrictions. To resolve getting SBIE messages, I added verclsid.exe and McSACore.exe to the permitted programs.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if someone held a gun to my head and said, "You have got to get rid of all your software security programs except for one, only one you may keep", it would be Sandboxie that I'd be keeping.

I haven't seen one bit of a slowdown with the latest version on Windows 7 64.

 

No slowdowns here whatsoever ... FF even open way faster now ...win7x86

 

uninstalled then reinstalled again didn't make any change still SLOWDOWN.

Opera and Chrome now look like IE while sandboxed frustrated.

I'd stick previous version and looking forward an answer from DEV.

@adik & dw maybe this only affected on XP.

Installed over the old version. Except after about 10 minutes browsing (no slowdowns) as I closed the browser, it bluescreened.

I've thoroughly uninstalled the whole thing, and did a clean install of v3.46... So far so good. If it bluescreens again, I'll go back to the older one and let you all know.

 

No slowdowns or problems here. I did an upgrade.

 

If this means that now the 64-bit version is just as secure as the 32-bit version, then I remain sceptical. I mean there was so much criticism and, dare I say it, whining from some developers that such programs can never be as secure on 64-bit OS as they are on 32-bit ones due to that naughty PatchGuard. If memory serves right Tzuk said he'd never create a 64-bit version since it just can't be as secure.
So which one is it? Are we being lied to that the 64-bit version is as secure or did we have a gigantic overreaction from the developers? I don't mean any disrespect as I'm well aware that the product is very solid, I just want to get to the bottom of this.

No slowdown for me with the new version, installed after uninstalling the previous one.

 

No slowdowns here. Upgraded, or installed on top of old one on Windows XP SP3 Home 32-bit.

 

Sorry to be Mr. Negative, but I disagree. It just shows that after 10 thousand people moan at him because they have upgraded to 64bit, he will suddenly decide to stop moaning about 64bit and actually make an effective program.

That being said, going from crying about 64bit to actually coding a 64bit Sandboxie is a good change of heart.

 

I also had slow down problem when i upgraded but i removed it and reinstalled feels kinda sluggish with opera 10.6 but no major problem so far.

 

Installed it as an upgrade on top of the existing one.
Windows 7 Pro x64.
No slow down and no problems.
I love this software.
