My Kubuntu desktop with updates from Kubuntu PPA, notice the start up memory use, its quite low actually, lower than my Gnome desktop, looks like the Germans have been doing a real good work lately on KDE.

 

The KDE whore in me just couldn't resist pimping it. LOL!

 

Nice linuxforall - memory start up is about the same I get with Gnome and compiz running - but AWN boosts it to around 520 plus minus. I usually end the day at about 680/720 MB.
Temperature in your parts too high for Ksensors ?

 

Thanks Ocky, the temps are high as the ambient temp is around 35C if you noticed, next life I have no desire to be born anywhere near any hot region on earth really, I hate heat, Sun, light and general crowd, gimme cold, dark, isolated place anyday, I am very happy to reside in my coffin.

For me the cold is my natural abode. The Google media player looks quite interesting, I usually use VLC for all my audio be it gnome or kde, there is a total winamp clone for Linux called qmmp, if you like winamp interface or you are used to it, this is for you.
