Lost internet service late yesterday afternoon.
Tried resetting the modem with no luck
Did a scan with NOD and it found..

    Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.052\7833449b4-4a09e800 >> zip>> MyName.Class - a variant of Java/Exploit.Agent>NAC trojan.

    and

    Local Settings\Temp\jar_cache58206.tmp >> Zip>> MyName.class - a variant of Java/Exploit.Agent.NAC trojan

NOD deleted the files and internet still wont work. Tried resetting the connection again and still no luck.
My connection Icon in the taskbar, keeps switching between 'acquiring a connection' and 'now connected'

Tried calling the cable company and they had me try resetting and sending a ping out to my computer, still no luck.

Would it be wise thinking to hook up another computer to the modem and see if its actually the modem/connection that is giving me grief or if its the computer that had the trojan on it that is keeping it from connecting.

    Thanks

Try another comp in case to exclude the modem as a cause. What your AV found and removed doesn't sound like something that will break the connectivity. Did you try restarting the router? Also what OS as it will help determine what other troubleshooting steps are available

Ok another computer doesnt do anygood either.
To make sure the Router wasnt the problem I bypassed the router and hooked directly to the computer from the modem.

So modem is toast? or what? The lights blink on the modem, however the power light comes on steady for a little bit then blinks on and off, then steady, then on and off.

What model is it? Anything in the manual as to what the light should appear like (steady or blinking) ? If not maybe check with ISP again

    Hi Phazor

If you lost Internet connection because of the malware variant that NOD detected please have deep scan with super-antispyware that is able to repair internet connection. I hope it would work for you.

In the meantime please share your infection experiences current and past here:

    Thanks.

wouldnt hooking up a different computer to the modem be a sign that its not the computer but the connection or modem?

Why would the OP want to take part in a Poll while struggling with a Malware issue :ouch:

    siljaline,
    Good Question :doubt: ........I dont.

I did not yet try the steps you posted the link to. I called the cable company and they came out to determine that the problem lies outside with their wiring, which they will be fixing. Will let everyone know when I know something.
Just seems odd to me that NOD picked up those nasties and wiring outside took a turn for the worse in the same day.

    Enjoy the weekend!!

I did not figure you did.

It is entirely possible that a wiring issue may have arisen.
    Please see this about that

    And you :thumb:
