Just curious, why did you drop CIS? I'm considering it myself, so your reasoning might be helpful to me. Thanks!

Well this might ease your mind. I added safe online back on. I realized that I needed a layer for my web browser. Plus it actually stopped a phishing attack 2 days ago. I had gotten off shift in the AM and I was kinda tired. I didn't notice that an email from my mortgage company had said that I had too many login attempts. Odd because I use last pass. ANyway....I hit the link and I noticed that it was directing me to a odd url. Then before I did anything prevx alerted me. Safeonline is a great program.

What about nothing at all ?

I'm seriously thinking about it, scenario would be like this : Admin account, Windows firewall, UAC OFF.
    Private browsing.
I don't run anyways some cracks, keygens, whatever files from warez & such BS , which are btw in 98% cases all FP's anyway caught by some Vendors.
Since I'm the only one using this box ... wow ...that might be it, that day has come, I'm gonna use nothin' :D

You're not using "nothing at all" if you're running a firewall.
Why not have a real party and disable that too?

Not trying to bake any cookies of discontent but is it true that the World Time Clock stays accurate by keeping itself in sync to all these minute by minute security changes you guys/gals make?

    Windows Seven:
    Admin User
    UAC Full asking for credentials
SRP all software files, all users - some allowances
    DEP all programs and services
    SEHOP
    Router (Firewalled)
    Windows Firewall Control Plus
    Avast 5
    AppGuard
    Malware Defender
    Comodo Time Machine
    Windows System Image/Backup

    trojan agent Winlogonhook & Symptoms

I ran two consecutive Spysweeper sweeps in safe mode with networking with the network cable disconnected and it deleted trojan agent Winlogonhook and it no longer detects it on a full sweep.

I also installed MalWareBytes and it found 24 registry threats and I deleted them.

However I still have problems with the PC which I believe are symptoms of the trojan agent Winlogonhook (These symptoms started at the same exact time that I was infected with Winlogonhook) such as the following…

When I do a search in IE7 or Firefox in Google or Yahoo or Bing a list of results with links is displayed but when I click a link and view the address bar in IE7 or FireFox it displays a different site address than the link that I just clicked and then it just goes to Google.com (right back where I first started to search with no links). If I go back to the search results page with the link and click it again, it does the same as described above for approximately 3-4 times and then the link finally takes me to the correct address of the link. Also, Spysweeper displays "The Internet Communication shield has blocked access to: Z0G7YA1I0.COM" always just after starting up the PC. Other sites that it blocks includes but isn't limited to the following... CLKH71YHKS66.COM (pops up often), 78.47.249.228, XML.CLICK9.COM & FIND-FM.COM. Also, I’m not sure if my Windows Update is working.

    I've attached a hijackthis log.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well, that's true, but I'm afraid firewall is a must (when connected 24/7 365 days per year)
But in a sense it is "nothing at all" because it's part of every OS (kernel)

It's not crazy if you know what you are doing, meaning .. if someone is just browsing usual stuff (forums, youtube, email), downloading only video materials, then I don't see a point.

Anyhow, I'm gonna stay with CIS 4.1.
Absolutely nothing wrong with it, light as a breeze, no issues at all, working perfect.

There's no need to go crazy with bare M$.
