Download the eicar test file. When you download it, Panda Cloud should detected it. If it does, then Panda Cloud is working.

Nice, I think it's a better method than the Eicar test file, as PCAV probably detects Eicar too with the offline protection, so then you still can't be sure you're correctly connected to the cloud detection servers.

I have PCAV 1.1.01 installed on my Win7 x64 workstation, and the cloudcar is not detected as malicious during download or when I execute the file. If I right-click scan it is neutralized.

Afterwards I went to the advanced settings and received this error message. PCAV was still running and I could access everything successfully. I then hovered over the tray icon and PCAV closed. I reopened it and then once I redownloaded the test file it was detected/deleted after a few seconds.

It looks like you are having a problematic install. Does this happen every time?

It would be nice to have an option for the realtime file system 'shield' to change the on access scanning to on execution.

I'm not sure I understand. On-access already includes on-execution as PCAV is a real-time protection AV, with resident monitor.

I think he means "only" on execution. Not on writing, ect.

Ahh... yes, nice indeed, specially when you're dealing with malware! :)

Just exclude all the drives ;)

Yes, but then it is also not detected on execution. I just executed the "CloudCAR" file with all drives excluded and it was not detected. What I want is on execution detection only, and not on access e.g. when writing/moving or scanning files with another av.

You can, but only with some internal tools we use. Not easy way to do that right now.

The exclusion does not work as what is scanned is the image on disk of the process, and if that is excluded it isn't scanned.

However it's a good idea, maybe in a future release's advanced config setting.

Panda Cloud can detect keyloggers, but if you want more protection I know SpyShelter works with PCAV now that the FP was fixed.

Does anyone know how (success rate ? ) PCAV detects TDL3 ?

Is there any information on how PCAV cure (active) TDL3 infection ?

    Any documentation on that ?
any user experience on this issue ?
