    I'm unable to run it for now as it blocks my game Dragonica (publ. : GPotato) from launching. GameGuard is involved. I excluded the folders I could find to no avail.

    The free version has no x64? But the premium does?

    Yes. Why? I think there is no 64 bit antilogger on the market.

    I'm sorry, but not allowing people who have 64-bit a free version is pretty silly IMO. So because we've decided to have more than 4GB or RAM, we should pay for this as opposed to others? C'mon now...:rolleyes:

    I agree.

    Doesnt Prevx, Comodo, etc have anti-keylogging features for x64?

    AFAIK, SS is the ONLY full-scope anti-keylogger that functions on 64-bit W7. The *apparent* reason for not making that a free feature (IMO) is that making a HIPS-type/anti-logger work EFFECTIVELY in 64-bit is bloody difficult/time-consuming to program.

    They are just trying to make a living, I guess.

    Prevx's adjunct "SafeOnLine" is fairly effective against keyloggers, but only functions against online malware. Comodo's anti-logger abilities are fairly weak. Test them yourself using the POC download located at the bottom center on THIS web page at the link labeled "download Test Tool".

    Sorry? o_O
    SS is not only an anti-keylogger and is more little than full scope.
    I dont know if you have ever tried D+ on x64 but is much better than spyshelter, and is able to block the same things and much more, and of course is FREE. Without mention the combination of the sandbox and D+.

    Commo dis-connect. :doubt:

    What I meant was that non-free SS covers all known types of malware within the keylogger genre. See HERE.

    Yes I have trialed D+ (I am a HIPS junkie). It is very good.

    Concerning effectiveness tests of Comodo FW (D+ et al) versus various categories within keylogger genre see HERE.

    If anyone wants to do testing on his own there are POCs at Zemana & Spyshelter websites.

    By making those of us with 64-bit pay while those with 32-bit get it free?

    Sorry, I wouldn't even try the demo of this because of that. Make a limited free version for both 32-bit and 64-bit and then if you wish to make a living selling software, add additional features for the paid version for both.

    Simply unacceptable business practice by making those of us with 64-bit pay for something that 32-but users get for free. But, that's the nice thing about choice, I can choose not to use the companies' software, which I am doing.

    well its ther company, ther pricing is their choice, dont buy it if u dont like it, thats how a free market works. dont complain cuz u chose to use 64bit, its solely the companies decision wen it comes to matters like this and u really have no right to scrutinize them for wanting to get paid for the extra work they put in to get compatibility, if that was the thinking of everyone there really wuldnt be much software to choose from. TBH it kind of just sounds like ur being jealous that u dont get something for free that others will...lol

    And I stated as such:

    Not jealous at all. Simply stating my opinion. I ran my own software company for 15 years. I think it's a silly business practice. I realize it's their company and I'm pretty well versed in the way business operates and the open market. I have every right to state my opinion about said open market and the way this company is conducting their business, thanks....lol.

    Spyshelter site is up, but slooow. They may lack the bandwidth for handling the high number of simultaneous downloads that ensue from offering a freebie.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    As to the comments made by some poster's about SS not giving away a version that suits their particular choice of OS - - - - -
    1- I personally feel that the "advertising value" of offering a free version of ANY sort is questionable -- especially for small start-up companies. I base this opinion on what I have observed here at Wilders when I visit threads about any given security app that offers BOTH a free & paid version.
    2- What I have observed is that users of free versions seem to dominate any thread that applies to any security app that offers both a free & non-free version. Moreover, the free users often are very demanding, & complain loudly about features that are missing from the free version but present in the paid version. Also, they often become more than a little hostile toward anyone who tries to disagree with their complaints.
    3- Free versions often bring about a disproportionate amount of negative advertising because of a small but VERY vocal minority of free users who demand the moon on a silver platter and raise BIG trouble when they do not get it.
    4- A prospective new user who visits a thread that has a lot of complaints by free users, demanding more features & faster updates, may get the idea, after reading so many complaints, that the application, whether free or NON-free, has lots of problems as manifested by so many disgruntled users. IMO, potential PAYING customers can becomes less likely to buy a product that is plagued by unreasonable demands stemming from a vocal minority of free users.
    5- To illustrate what I mean, I suggest visiting some of the threads about Avira. Threads about Avira tend always to have several loud complaints about slow updates for the free version, as well as grumbles because the freebie lacks the behavior blocker that is included in paid versions. Also, many such threads go into elaborate detail about how to avoid the "notice" pop-ups that are part & parcel of Avira's free version. Bottom line, it is hard to find a coherent discussion of Avira that isn't plagued by free version complaints.
    6- Another example is Outpost, where free users began complaining that the free version hadn't been instantly updated to include all the added features of the new, NON-free version 10 of OP. These complaints actually began while OP version 10 was in early beta testing.
    7- Yet another example was System Safety Monitor, now defunct. It was shocking to read the frequent vitriolic attacks posted on SSM's support forum by free users, demanding more features and instant support service, and sometimes threatening lawsuits if they didn't get what they were demanding. Unbelievable! IMO one reason for SSM's decision to withdraw its product was because of the expense and heartbreak involved in dealing with swarms of free users who seldom bought the product, but who often dominated SSM's forum with complaints, & who also bad-mouthed SSM in nearly every Wilders thread that tried to discuss that HIPS.
    9- A similar attack happened just today in the Immunet free version thread because the Immunet folks added an optional tool bar to their freebie in order to help pay for the programming time, bandwidth, and other out-of-pocket expenses that are attendant to offering a highly popular freebie. Some of the caustic comments in that thread are truly disgusting.
    10- I suppose that some small percentage of free users might eventually buy the paid version, but I truly wonder whether those added sales are worth all the grumbles, adverse publicity, added bandwidth usage, added free support time/costs, & heartbreak that seems to ensue from dealing with some (NOT all) free version users.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    No doubt I will be pounced on by freebie lovers, but Spyshelter seems to be a relatively small outfit (already having bandwidth problems) and I do hope they haven't shot themselves in the foot by offering a free version.

    Not by me,

    As with Online Armour, I think SS is a to good an application to be freeware. They should left some bits out (like system protection). Because it really is more of a HIPS than a specific anti keylogger.

    Compare freeware version of SS with DataGuard Ultimate :thumb: and see how good SS free offer is

    (PS I deselected automated update, because it is just to good to be true)
