    @ PrevXHelp

I understand that this is required as a last stand, since most people run admin with at best UAC protection on. I also have setup my defense based on the OS-its policy management. So I am not likely to need this last stand and switch to a less solid (but better fitting to my needs) alternative to safe online.

    @ Konata

I am also noting that PrevX Safe Online uses constant disk I/O. It does not slow down the system doing single tasks, since it uses very little CPU and I/O is performed in the back ground.

On my old dumb XP system I noticed that the drag PrevX causes when starting applications can be reduced (a little) by telling prefetch to only cache must used programs. So the drag is flet whenb switching tasks (starting other programs). My giess is that most people with faster harddisks and multi core CPU's won't notice it all. So it is hard to ask a vendor to change its philosophy when only a few systems are affected by it

I think the problem was caused by my RamDisk software's driver (because it happened again). There's no more updates (at least for public RC version). Time to add exclusions..

Also the display driver settings were a little messed because for the guest account, the usb monitor is closed. Might update after a disk image.

I may try Prevx SafeOnline again as well, but I'd really like an option to remove real-time detection because of possible further conflict.

As for the errors at the beginning of installation.. They were very short (around 3 letters/symbols/numbers) and incomprehensible.

    Hi J_L,

Can you please send a scan log to Prevx as stated in this post: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=270590

It's not possible to spit the two apart as Joe already has said:

Doesn't seem to be compatible with SandBoxie anymore.

Here's a scan log and error screenshots.

well with 64 bit, Prevx with SafeOnline is far superior to Prevx without SafeOnline and Sandboxie. Just really not as fond of Sandboxie as I once was.

I disagree, with a properly configured SandBoxie and system, 99.9% of all malware can't touch you.

Personally, I have set SandBoxie to run with limited rights and internet access restrictions. Also have default-deny SRP with exceptions to Program Files, Windows, and a few hashes. No malware can write to those folders with limited rights.
Also got Comodo Internet Security with all monitoring and pretty much every advanced settings checked. Avast multiple shields enabled (File System, Web Shield, Network Shield, and Behaviour Shield). Both have password protected settings.
PeerBlock (multiple lists) and the router are on as well.

Tell me something that can go through this combination. What does Prevx Safeonline offer over that?

I seriously doubt one security product can be as perfect as you think :thumbd:

I bet you'll be surprised how well my computer runs. All of my tools cover a different layer and is unlikely to conflict. Forgot to mention Comodo AV is disabled though.

Who do you guys think will honestly have a better chance of infection? Me, or some guy who trusts only Prevx?

SRP is built-in with Windows. It uses virtually no resources.
I bet all of you know how light SandBoxie is. Comodo Internet Security and Avast are 2 of the lightest programs ever. PeerBlock also uses very little resources.
All updated good security programs nowadays aims to be light.

Prevx isn't the only light program around, fanboys. Oh yeah, I do have disk imaging if your are wondering about backups.

That's not the only point you should look at if you due get infected while using Prevx they guarantee clean up free of charge who else offers that? And they have a great support system here at the forums or even through there support inbox! I'm not trying to tell you what to use as each user have there own ways of using security products and to each there own! :thumb: Belive me I tried many apps I just tried Online Armor just last week and didn't like it so I went back to Look'n'Stop I had NOD32 for 6+ years and still use on my desktop with prevx but when my NOD32 license runs out I will be using only Prevx with SafeOnline as I'm doing now on my Laptop and also what is in my siggy!

The support and all is fine, but I don't need SafeOnline anyhow. To each to their own I guess.

my reason for using prevx is its MITM protection... antikeylogging... antiphish/pharming... protection from cookie stealing.
Does your long list of apps cover these scary things?

    Also this:

SafeOnline alone covers alot and if you add into LUA/SRP combo that makes most malware unable to execute unless you forcefully do so... its pretty much complete... much more with 64bit.

since most malware can't run on LUA/SRP environment and SafeOnline offers free malware detection, I can easily locate the virus and just simply delete it.
an on-demand antivirus/antimalware for disinfecting files is also nice to have.

SandBoxie with Internet Restriction should protect from them. I only allow my browser to connect online within SandBoxie. Avast is a good AV as well, not to mention Comodo Defense+ w/ SandBox (basically HIPS). Comodo Firewall monitors any connection outside of my rules.

J_L, if you look at my post closer, I was referencing on a 64 bit machine.

Where does it say man-in-the-middle attack for Prevx Safeonline? The SafeOnline page clearly states Man-In-The-Browser, which is a trojan.

I'm using the 64-bit version btw, it's still pretty much bulletproof.
