I have never set it up that way, but I dont see why not.

I cannot remember if setting the different protection modules can be done during installation, so I will assume MD is installed with all protection on.

After installation, go to the tray icon, right click and disable all protection apart from "Application Protection"

Go into the main rules window, double left click the default rule at the top of the "Applications rules- Normal", in the options window set "Execution permission" and "Create new process" as "Ask", all other permissions then set at allow.

That should then just warn you if a new executable is launched or if an application attempts to launch another.

Does MD save a hash of allowed executables? Is it win7 x64 compatible?

There is a way to configure Comodo firewall like windows firewall but I dont remember how, I think that can be done even during the installation, ask in comodo forums if you want.

I get a warning asking if I really want to do that.
Please explain a bit, if you would, how closing the GUI sets OA Free to autodeny all new executables?

Thanks for that, Sadeghi85. Most helpful. However, when running OA with the GUI interfaced closed, I was still able to run a couple of executables that were not listed on the programs list. Maybe it is because they were present on my system when I installed OA and told it to trust all during setup, but I thought that if that was the case, then they would appear on the programs list as 'allowed'.

Interestingly, other executables that were also present during setup were not able to run, as one might expect. So in very limited testing, I'm not so sure this is a completely valid way of denying all new executables. If anyone else has done tests, I'd like to hear.

spyware terminator can be configured to auto deny everything unless you allow it to run.

Does Process Guard 3.5 work with Vista?
    sg09 is running Vista.
A post at DSL Reports says no.
