    Still got some questions left and I added one more:

    1. Is it possible to turn the of removing of cookies? CCleaner does that fine for me, also makes the scan faster I guess.
    2. Any time schedule for 64-bit beta?
    3. So Ikarus (getting really one of the best av's recently) requested to show users that they are actually detecting it and not Emsisoft? How about G Data, since they haven't got any in-house engine anyway, unlike Emsisoft? Splitting it up in avast! and BitDefender would be fair for them, but unfair for G Data, since they are in-the-cloud but wouldn't be recognized anymore.
    4. Does this update includes updates to the removal engine, more thorough removing (of leftovers)?

    By the way, nice to see more combinations coming to the SurfRight shop, more important for me: nice to see the ESET NOD32 Antivirus and Hitman Pro combination is back to the normal price (€36.95).

    1. You can disable the "Scan for Tracking Cookies" under Settings. Note that CCleaner simply deletes all cookies, whereas Hitman Pro only deletes cookies related to advertisement tracking (cookies shared between different websites).
    2. 64-bit will be released simultaneously with the release of 32-bit. The release is somewhere next week.
    3. Emsisoft specifically requested to include the IKARUS logo whereas G Data did not.
    4. This update does not yet include the remnant scan which is slated for version 3.6.x. Work on that has already been started a while ago.

    Hope this helps.

    It helps, although I find it a shame apparantly there is no 64-bit beta coming. Since it is impossible to run the 32-bit on 64-bit OS (unlike all other programs which just emulate it). Although in general I find that a good point since most security software is just emulated 64-bit, only MSE and Hitman Pro are genuine 64-bit (maybe a few others).

    More important, looking forward to version 3.6; with better (remnant) removal Hitman Pro really becomes THE second-opinion scanner.

    Does anyone know how I could start an Early Warning scan via FileMenu Tools?

    [EDIT] Got it! If if helps anyone in the future, you have to use the "Send To" rather than "Run".

    Appreciate you and your brother answering questions Mark. The prevx and hitman pro bundle will suit many here. :thumb:

    For those saying Dr Web isn't a big vendor, I think it's a valuable one to add as Dr Web has always been very cautious when adding detections, meaning, if Dr Web reports a file is infected, I usually take notice and investigate further. The many who use CureIt to assist in cleaning a PC will also vouch for Dr Web's strengths. :)

    Hi, thanks for the amazing software that makes my life easier.

    I have seen certain trojans not caught by hitman but which another scanner found (I can't remember exactly which one), which I then uploaded to virustotal.com and it was found there. Perhaps you could get their permission to download the scan results from there site (in other words every previously completed scan has a static url). This could then tip you off further. But I realize that Hitman Pro seems to focus more on Spyware whereas those sites are more virus-oriented (or is just that my memory of Hitman 2.x?)

    Or perhaps you, and the people that run virusscan.jotti.org and virustotal.com could somehow collaborate and learn things from each other?

    Well said, Saraceno. I'm looking forward to the final release of 3.5.6, and I'm excited about the addition of DrWeb. :thumb:

    I agree..:thumb: It is truely a great addition. Another one which is very cautious about adding signature is Kaspersky.

    Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

    It doesn't focus more on spyware, that was indeed the previous version of Hitman Pro, which was a real spyware killer. Now it just focuses on malware in general: trojans, rootkits but indeed also spyware. Which is ofcourse quite logical, because it uses the databases of several cloud partners. To check potentially dangerous files, selected in the behavioral scan, in-the-cloud.
    And is ofcourse possible something Hitman Pro misses a trojan, but there could also be several other reasons for that:
    - it is that new that no one in the cloud recognizes it, seems quite unlikely thought, especially Prevx is good at zero-day;
    - is it really a trojan? it could also be a false positive, it is really easy to code a legimate program which is recognized as malware; you just need a string coincidence;
    - is it an active trojan? Hitman Pro focuses more on active malware. It is possible that it could just be some leftovers or whatever, and that is not Hitman Pro's strongest capability (yet).

    I'm using regularly Hitman but I find strange the fact that sometimes uploads files that logically should be already known. Just to mention two cases.
    The Skype setup file ( I think two months old ) uploaded from Hitman this week and just yesterday the Feedemon setup file. Is it possible that no other user had these files before?

    Hi erik,

    I notice if I do a contextual scan on a folder HMP will not scan any folders within that folder, is this by design?

    Also (maybe I've not noticed before) HMP appearing in the av results...

    Yes that is correct. Weakness of HMP. Ok? Erik won't admit this. I remember user ask question before and he never reply. Ok.

    They have admitted this multiple times before. It can cost big resources on the scan cloud if everyone just right-clicked their C: drive, but they said they might make it available for paid users in the future.

    Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

    @Meriadoc
    About the right-click scan
    It indeed doesn't scan all the subfolders and this indeed is by design, because it would cost big resources on the scan cloud like BoerenkoolMetWorst said, that is also why a full system scan ain't available. It would need too much resources, with minimal results because malware focuses on essential folders.
    And also Hitman Pro might offer better right-clickscanning and a full system scan in the future, probably only for paying consumers.

    About Hitman Pro showing up in the results.
    @NoIos
    As far as I know Hitman Pro always uploads the files it marks as files of interest, after the behavioral scan, it doesn't matter if that files have already been uploaded before.

    Yes I understand what HMP scans, I just noticed scanning part of my zoo folder I had to go back and scan the odd sub folder. Thanks.

    I'm getting BSOD's here just after clicking Scan. DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, caused by hitmanpro35.sys
    It works fine on my VM but BSOD's on some real machines. What kind of dump do you need?

    Hitman Pro only uploads file that are not yet known to the cloud. So if that file is already known, it isn't uploaded again.

    What about the rest of the files? How the malicious files were detected? File Hash or something else?
