I bought the Rescue Lite and I've had to reformat and when I went to install it back I get an error code of 2753 and says it probably is my copy is bad. So where do I go now to get another copy of Rescue Lite to install? I tried Leapfrog in google and all is a blank so Todd if you read this how do I get support so I can get another copy of Rescue Lite.

Damn, what a shame! I was hoping that sooner or later they would add Paypal so that i could buy it.

Such a useful program! The best ones are always the first to "die". :'(

Best of luck for any future projects.

Don't really know what to say. I do not understand why FD-Rescue (specially the lite version) died so soon; I mean you already made the program and it is stable and easy to use. Why not continue selling it? o_O

Beside wilders members FirstDefense is unknown at least in Europe (I suspect to other regions too).
Have you consider contacting www.giveawayoftheday.com ? It is a great advertitising service (Paragon uses it all the time and Macrium became known and very popular because of it).

Anyway, since I already bought a FirstDefense-Rescue Workstation license and since you'l continue to support it I have no complaints.

Yes, good idea. I think this wonder software only crave for a better marketing plan and this kind of site can be a good tool to enlarge the "average" public recognition. http://www.bitsdujour.com/ is another variation on the same theme. Hey, even Ilya Rabinovich (DefenseWall's author) uses it at time and he is very picky for his marketing choices.

Yes, same here. But I would have been curious to know more of this mysterious Leapfrog product that was semi announced by Todd.
And, pandlouk, it would also be real nice of you if you gave us a little hint on that new feature that you suggested to him (that was one of the main reason why I bought the workstation version then) !? :)

Any chance I can still get a trial copy of FD-R, Todd?

If it works out, I'll buy it anyway knowing that you aren't planning any future development on it. Or maybe I can get a copy from someone who would let it go if you can't sell it to me from some reason (and assuming no problems on my computer.)

I'd still like to give it a try -- at least until some future Win Service Pack forces it out of my hands. Even if I only get a year out of it, that's still better than nothing.

I got a new Win7 laptop and searched for a replacement for GoBack that I use on all my XP computers. FirstDefense Rescue looked like the best (really only) option for a non-invasive solution to let me dual-boot with Linux.

Unfortunately, the day I went to download and install FD-R you had placed your notice just 2 hours before. (aaarrggghhhh!!)

Rollback, Eaz-Fix and TotalRecovery won't dual-boot and none of them will play well with Linux booted from a CD or USB thumb-drive even. Comodo Time Machine has so much negative feedback in their forums I can only imagine that they released it way too soon like they did with their firewall which suffered the same consequences at the time.

After looking into other options (i.e. disk image recovery, real-time file backup with versioning) I still think FD-R would be the easiest way to go. All in all, FD-R coupled with the real-time file backup with versioning would be a pretty good replacement for GoBack in my case.

Also, where did those instructions (review?) from Boonie go to? I can't find the link anymore.

    Thanks, Peter

Everyone here should have seen this coming . It was a dumbed down ( WAYYYYY dumbed down ) version . I felt bad that it was even offered as pay software considering how far from the original it was . Cost was high . It is a shame but , this software was weak . I am glad to see that LeapFrog saw the writing on the wall and stopped trying to push this . Very sound business decision . I applaud you for finally giving it up . EXCELLENT try though . And thank you for all the help !

Since I had promised Todd not to say anything and anyone about this, I'm sorry but cannot give any info. :(

ps. To all that continue to bash FD-R I'll say that the main reasons that it doesn't sell are:
    1. Almost zero advertising.
    2. FD-ISR and it's (almost) out of the box combatibility with Windows 7.
    3. Piracy of FD-ISR.

My belief is that if it were advertised in a big way , it would still have problems selling . I knew about . I thought the software was ok but , nothing spectacular . And yet , I would not buy it . Why ? For what you get , the price was too high for me . And I am used to FD-ISR . After using that for so long and losing it , FD-R was no replacement . I miss my FD-ISR . And I hope Leapfrog comes out with something that has no restraints . I would really look forward to that !!

I added a new hard drive and removed the old after cloning the old . Well , the cloning did not work . So I had to start from scratch . That means FD-ISR is no longer with me . That was my favorite program too . License I did not have to deal with forever so , I do not even have that anymore to reference so , even if I could download FD-ISR , it would do me no good as I cannot register it .:(
This is where you can call me an idiot and I will accept it . I should have done better but , I never thought it would disappear . I am much better at saving my license info now but , too late for FD-ISR . That program never let me down . EVER !!!!

This is a case where it's not just the software, that never lets you down. Todd you are just an amazingly fine fellow.

Todd tried to help me figure out why I was getting a error everytime I tried to boot to the rescue area. I think it was a H-11 error. He spent almost 5 days trying to help me over the phone. He definitely is amazing. Sorry things didn't work out Todd.

Just got back from a rather long trip. Needless to say, I'm a bit surprised. But no use in lamenting.
Todd, thanks for the effort, hard work, and future support.
You play your cards as best you can and hope for the best.
