Does anyone out there actually like Bing? A diatribe.

Google returns better results when I need to do a search in my country's language, but Bing USA (not the local ones) has nice features, returns good English results and is very pretty with all those interesting daily images.

That said, I still use Google way more than Bing - Bing needs several improvements in its specific country/region search.

bing is definetely a nicer webpage with the nice images and would make a good homepage, but thats about it. its search capabilities are far more limited than google's and its unfortunate cuz id prefer not to use google but i have no choice if i want to truely see the best and most search results.

I don't see the difference in my search results. Maybe my searches are too easy. Bing always has the results for me. :D

I like Bing. Not enough to use it as my primary engine, but whenever I'm doing serious research I always make sure to run my terms through Bing as well; I find it has a tendency to turn up a lot of interesting stuff that Google sometimes misses.

Bing is my default search engine now. Very occasionally use Google to compare results.

  6. I have no love for Microsoft... But so far I've found Bing pretty impressive, especially the lack of dodgy and fake results. However, I do think it sometimes tries to be too smart, e.g. if you search for "supermicro x8dtn+" (a motherboard we sometimes use where I work) it will turn up a bunch of places where you can buy one before the main Supermicro page on the board, whereas Google will put the Supermicro page at the top.

Add in the fact that Google is beginning to draw even more ire from me than Microsoft, and, well... I'm not really sure why I still use Google. Rote probably.
