How are 'suspicious' applications handled by Panda Cloud Antivirus? Are the uploaded to servers for further analysis?

I opened a folder that had a few pieces of malware, PC flagged some as suspicious and apparently sent them to the labs for investigation.

On the Panda website they say getting signatures released within 6 minutes, yet those files sat there for over a week, I then gave up.

Yeah. I have a feeling 'suspicious' files aren't uploaded to their servers for analysis. Can anyone confirm this?

That's not it. They're talking about KNOWN MALWARE getting moved to a secure area where it's deleted after 3 days. I am talking about the suspicious files I download that stays on my desktop for days or even weeks without anything happening to them. Are the automatically submitted? Are they clean from viruses? May I launch them? No one would know because they're suspicious and not known malware according to PCA. I want to know if they're in progress of getting analyzed.

I was referring to the Suspicious files, they are sent to be checked out but due to a bug some PCAV clients are not moving the files out of suspicious classification due to a bug. So this will be fixed in the next release.

Fair enough. I look forward to the next release. But Panda claims suspicious files are 'literally analyzed within 6 minutes', which is clearly not the the case I'm having. :)

I'm thinking of installing PCAV on some friends old computers, but until decent selfdefense which will be in 1.1 I won't install.

Panda has intelligent forms of scanning and a very simple user interface. After an initial scan the delayed scanning techniques really facilitate a 'light feel (minimal system impact) of the AV. Panda uses a reasonabe amount of CPU time and quite some disk I/O, but on multicore systems you problably will have a very good user experience (may be the best in terms of PC responsiveness).

On old single core systems, form the free AV's Avast with file and behavioral shield only is very lean on resources due its intellignt caching. After an initial scan of the C-drive, you will see that Avast uses 10 times less I/O than Panda.

    Regards Kees

How do I uninstall Panda Cloud Antivirus? There's no uninstaller included and Pandas' seperate uninstaller won't even remove the application from my computer. It doesn't ask me to reboot computer after uninstall, and even if I reboot the computer manually, PCA is still there after reboot! It seems to be impossible to uninstall.

I posted this in PCA's support forums, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here as well..

When Panda Cloud is active I keep getting "file is damaged, try again?" messages when importing images from my Canon EOS camera to my Windows 7 64bit machine. If I disable Panda it imports with no issues. Is this a bug with Panda, if so how do I correct it?

BTW- I just tried the 1.1 PCAV beta and the issue does not occur. Must be a 1.0 bug only.
