not MATOUSEC please! matousec is more on leaktest and GRC is like just checking for open ports only.

I want a test which shows the strenghts of Firewalls inbout/outbound filtering capability.

    are there any?

Here's a Golden Oldie site with a number of firewall tests: http://www.pcflank.com/scanner1.htm The site has been around quite some time so I'm not sure how up to date it is.

I am not sure how good that is as it really checks the router firewall
This is the result with the software firewall disabled (it is the same when enabled)
TruStealth: FAILED - ALL tested ports were STEALTH,
    - NO unsolicited packets were received,
    - A PING REPLY (ICMP Echo) WAS RECEIVED.

can you read the results and act on them?
results mean nothing if some cannot handle or read them.
and - i dont really care a software firewall - if the malware have already
touched the system its anyway too late!

tales of "stealth" ports - it points out that a system is there behind.
so its pretty useless if a port is open and none is present to answer
or a port is closed and none is present to answer.

same for ping - or trace - the route is present but no one answer - so the
    computer behind is existing anyway.

the best way to prevent attacks from outside is a router (or good switch).

I tried a few tests and got no response from them. It is an older site and I guess it may not be kept up anymore. Almost sorry I blew the dust off that old bookmark and posted it...  :)

    www.grc.com

    www.securitymetrics.com

    nmap-online.com

    www.auditmypc.com/port-scanning.asp

is also good site to check tcp half connect scanning............etc

A PING REPLY (ICMP Echo) WAS RECEIVED receive means your router is replaying to pings mostly routers by default set to ping replay so there will be no connectivity difficulty but you can set it to block ping option as well

TruStealth: FAILED - ALL tested ports were STEALTH,
    - NO unsolicited packets were received,
    - A PING REPLY (ICMP Echo) WAS RECEIVED.

means when someone scan your computer from outside ...............he get the result .....all ports blocked but machine is up (booted)

    Konata Izumi

please check this it will tell you results of your pc vulnerability

    http://www.nessus.org/nessus/

when you test your computer from local it show you different results means how your system is protected locally where as you need to set a different machine remotely not on same subnet and scan form that machine your machine it will give you remotely results(2nd case is difficult to set) you can use grc scan the results are same ie how your computer response to outside world

in simple words 1st case what can person can do sitting on your computer
and in 2nd case how your computer react to person response scanning your computer form outside
