My guess would be they run zero day threats from their network and run them against Security software and records it

    Realtime

    Eset NOD32 4.2.40
    SAS Pro 64bit Beta

    Ondemand

    MBAM latest
    SAS Pro
    Hitman Pro

and when a file is in question Virustotal.com

This is on Win 7 x64

As for a firewall I used to use Outpost Pro but the 64bit version has been HORRIBLE... I tried to install it recently and it totally bitched the machine on a reboot... man they've bloated and killed it's codebase from the looks of it... Once a firewall starting adding AV and Spyware protection to the package to upsell, nine times outta ten historically it's lead to a total disaster for the firewall. Outpost seems to have failed where so many other have in it's dev cycle/progression... sad...

    Living with Win7's firewall

Too much installing and uninstalling. I had to go to backup image once again. So now Im trying ZoneAlarm Pro 2010. "Removed" Outpost 7. ZA Pro is pretty nice, but not overly excited about it. It's simple enough for me to work.

I am interested in Wilderscitis. What were the symptoms? Did the machine
just lock up?Slow to a crawl?

I know before I went to VirtualBox to obtain my new program fix,I was reformatting and installing on the average of every 5 months.

They did for the time being.
a-squared and no harm in using Hitman Pro too. Hitman Pro scans take only a few minutes.

There is nothing wrong with Windows Firewall on 7, in fact it is great. Since I use Windows 7 I never even considered installing a third-party firewall again, before I had W7 I always used Outpost Free.

Wife's PC (XP Home running admin)

Behind Router - remote harddisk fo rimage/data backup

    Comodo Time Machine
    * seperated programs from data partition
    * created a special Temp partition (T) were all temp data is stored, this to reduce overhead of CTM
    * protects only C partitiion

    DefenseWall V3
    * default setting, only download area's tuned (only T:\Download)

Added own Registry tweak of IE8 with easy reg files for setting block on and off (see https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=262475) added the additional protection settings also.

    Keyscrambler Free for IE8

Hitman Pro on demand (smartscreen checks downloads automatically)
On demand on line scans Panda Active Scan + Ms One Care

Note: created one image backup before CMT was installed.

Trying out keyscambler. Makes me at ease when banking online. I have OA which has a good keylogger. You can never be too safe when it comes to bank accounts though.

I tried to install Virtual Box, but it failed to create a Virtual Machine. Opera started crashing, was the symptom.

Looks like they put it up, yet the name doesn't give me the impression that the english language is available for use, but only russian. :doubt:

EDIT: Also says that it's forbidden to access when I try to download the file. :cautious:
