The main icon and copyright information are changed, no new features in this release.

Just downloaded the new version. Like the new logo :thumb: Noticed as xiaolin points out my previous registration information is gone so I assume it is now freeware. All my previous rules are intact (I would export a copy just in case). The only thing that hung was the Autostarts folder. It indicated could not read registry. A quick reboot in learning mode fixed that. Again after install I recommend running in learning mode. Otherwise running smooth. Thanks xiaolin.

Download seems to be running smoothly. What is good to run alongside MD. I'm guessing some sort of realtime protection?

An A/V and perhaps a light-weight firewall is all you'll need with MD. :)

I'm running Immunet Protect. Doesn't MD have its own firewall? I've got windows firewall turned off.

Totally agree here, again I'm only using GeSWall as a safety net :) - I'm completely confident that MD would be able to stop all malware, even before it's started since a prompt will be triggered through writing or creating process, etc. ;)

Download and scan. If you don't run it i suppose you can't be infected? I know scanning can't find everything oh well :D

Or do it in a VM.

    Hey everyone,

Is the software I'm downloading from 360safe Malware Defender? Or some new software all together?

    Sorry to ask.

I downloaded from that site, and uploaded to one of the online multi AV scanners. The file is OK.

    Hi xiaolin,

I can reproduce BSODs after upgrading from 2.6.0 to 2.7.0 on XP Pro SP3. Most of the BSODs occurred before the logon screen; a few after logging in. No problems on Windows 7. I have mini and kernel memory dumps if you need them.

    Details...

This is you shouldn't be using Dumb products such as Barracuda, WOT, and Prevx. they are flawed.

I just use Sandboxie along side MD. Sandboxie for internet facing apps and MD for system wide Protection and a firewall to filter lowlevel packets.

    And xiaolin Thanks.

It is running a few hours in learning mode alongside DW3.

    But there is somethings:

    Not showing system32 folder, and
no rules for Defensewall_serv.exe (it is saying cannot find file)

    is it bug?

Mine shows system32 in normal or learning mode. I don't have DW thought. Maybe try to exit DW and revert?

There is a bug in v2.7.0. Please use 2.6.0 for now.

Yes, it does, but it will fail to catch everything a firewall should. For example, it fails the DNS leaktest from Comodo Leak Test Suite. You can close this gap by running MD alongside just about any personal firewall.

Likewise, MD also fails several keylogger tests - particularly troubling are screen capture and clipboard logging. To close this gap, you could run Zemana or SpyShelter alongside MD.

The problem with running multiple security applications is that there is going to be overlap in coverage and more resource usage. The bottom line is that if you run MD alone and practice safe computing, you'll have everything you need to stay secure. If you use MD properly and don't allow a rogue executable onto your system, you should have no worries about any of the gaps in MD's coverage. However, with that said I would still stand by my original recommendation.

I would also recommend you take a look into either avast! or Avira over relying solely on Immunet Protect for A/V coverage.

    Hi Xiaolin,

Are you still developing "Malware Defender" or you have handover the program to other developer of Safe360?

I hope you still developing it, because i rely on you too much. :)
