How am I? I often recommend other av programs when they suit the user better than Norton. I'm no fanboy.

 

For firewall look into LookNStop. Its extremely light, but doesnt offer HIPS.

 

Yeah, CIS V4 does require some knowledge to use
But if you understand everything, it's hard to get through

I agree with White Dragon on Look N Stop for firewall but also consider Online Armor free as a possibility. It also is light and offers basic HIPS functionality...

 

Why?
Does Dr. Web have poor performance? (With this i mean things like detection, removal, resource usage etc.)

I couldn't find any review/test of this software, only the ones at Anti Malware Test Lab

 

IMO dr.web is not bad.

 

Not if you only run the sandbox, which is enough IMO. Run manual scans if you get any keyloggers, etc. Programs you trust that require administrator rights, etc., you just put in My Own Safe Files and done. Nothing more you need to do and safe from malware - 95-100%

 

I removed ZoneAlarm Pro from one computer a few days ago, and have been running with Windows Firewall. I am now installing Online Armor Free, and may upgrade to Premium if all goes well.

They've kind of gone into hiding as far as testing goes. They used to be tested at Av Comparatives a few years ago but withdrew after not doing as well as they would have liked. The last on demand test result I remember there had them at Standard.

 

Tests by MRG has them near the bottom of the pile.

 

ID theft would be a whole different animal. your setup in your sig is good also but im the one in charge maintaining many computers both in work and home and installing seperate/several protections is too much work me, considering other protection is now newbie friendly

 

I respect that, believe me - I sure know when you've to fix stuff. In any case, if you would switch to a program like DW, you would sure not need much or any management of it. It's that restrictive but at the same time so ~ Snipped as per TOS ~ easy to use. Honestly.

 

I think you're missing the point that when the Comodo sandbox is enabled, an unknown installer triggers an Elevated Privileges alert where allowing causes the installer to run outside the sandbox and blocking causes the installer to be totally blocked. That's where a stupid, headstrong, and determined user can mess up his or her machine.

 

Is there any way to remove this prompt since programs inside the sandbox indeed seem to run under LUA? Would be even more convenient to not have that pop-up either if you ask me.
